How long have you been in your industry?18 years, but didn't name the company till 2015
Why did you choose your industry?Because I see leverage everywhere. I wanted to help other business owners with their marketing and sales in a profound way. My purpose to have a GDP level impact on the mountain communities we serve and to have a transformational impact on luxury development and hospitality industries.
Who are your typical clients? Our clients, leaders in hospitality, tourism, and luxury development, hold CEO or GM roles. They are visionaries, building the future (hotels and gondolas) Hospitality is more than an industry; it's a way of life. These clients seek to maximize their time and value our ability to anticipate their needs. They dream so big our ecosystem grows as a result of association.
What do you like best about being in this industry?Being challenged and nothing ever stays the same.
What are common problems you see?Nothing ever stays the same. Making sure the clients see things through to completion. IE: how is your digital footprint connected and what path does customer journey take.Connecting business development, sales and marketing together.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Understand the ideal future state and work with what you have. Clarity drives results. As a professional coach, I take a coaching opportunity's when I see them.
When is your busy season?Same all year round.
What keeps you up at night?MONEY
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Linkedin - I write edgy content, and have several automations that help me start conversations. I sit on several boards that have my ideal customer. This is different than growing my business. We do a lot of traditional BD tactics because we live in a small community.
How involved are you in the community?I am the president of the Lake Louise Ski ClubI am the venue's director for SKAL Canadian RockiesI teach two classes at SMARTStart (Networking Mastery and Marketing Strategy)I started the local Chamber of CommerceWe advise many sport tourism boards on how to get more sponsorship. I pay my staff to sit on boards.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Right now, SKAL.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Understand AI and how you will work with it versus compete with it.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Skiing (I ski 4 days a week), XC skiing, Mountain biking, hiking, everything outdoors.
