About Eastern Army Aviation Training SiteThe Eastern Army National Guard Aviation Training Site (EAATS) is a U.S. Army aviation school operated by the Pennsylvania National Guard at Fort Indiantown Gap. It offers more than 25 courses, including UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook pilot and maintainer training. It operates numerous high-tech flight simulators and is the largest flight simulation complex in the reserve component. EAATS trains over 1,500 service members annually from all 54 states and territories, the active-duty Army and Army Reserve as well as international military students.

What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?We’ve got to sell customers from international markets on the idea that the quality of training they will get at the EAATS is more valuable than the quantity they can push through at other locations.

What are the biggest challenges your department is currently facing? Recruiting top talent. Budget constraints make it difficult to predict the timing of of when our hiring windows will open. This makes it difficult to work with recruits on when we can offer them a job.

How are you engaging with the community or citizens you serve? The EAATS continues to participate in military recruiting events that open our aircraft and facilities for public “static display”

How do you address national security concerns in today’s climate? We integrate current conflict data into our training scenarios to increase relevance.

What’s your vision for the future of public service or defense? Defense will continue to lean into automation, AI, and space. This means many of the current machines and people in the force will be forced to shift in their mission and task organization.
