What differentiates you from the competition?We're small and nimble. We have our primary focus of business, which is Southeast grocery brokerage, but we are nimble and can be flexible with our partners needs regards to scope of business, customer focus, etc.

What are your top selling services or products that your company offers?Family focus and experience. Our entire sales force is my family.

If you had one message to get across to future customers, what would it be?If you are a brand looking for a sales agency to educate you, help with your financial outlook and help improve your chances of placement at Southeast grocery chains, SMB maybe the right brokerage for you. We are small and focused.

What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Growing business in a competitive market during a tough economy.

How do you stay ahead of changing consumer preferences?Our diverse customer assortment shows consumer preferences in different stages. Our early adaptors help predict our “fast follower” customers.

What makes your brand stand out in a crowded market?We’re a small, family company. No silos, we have direct communication with one another, and our goals are to grow our brand clients which grows our family business.

How are you incorporating sustainability into your products or services?Many of the companies we work with are focused on sustainable business practices which we help them use as selling attributes. As a home-based company, we use very little resources to get our work done.

What role does customer feedback play in your innovation process?Identifying consumer trends helps us decide the clients we serve and onboard into our company. We work with our clients to determine when their new innovation is right for our markets.

How are you adapting to e-commerce and digital retail trends?Our primary focus is to sell to brick and mortar. We counsel our clients on digital offerings within our retailers marketing strategies.

Can you share a success story related to a recent product launch?We recently re-connected with a deli brand client. Ran into them by chance at an industry event. When we met, it was time to present to one of our customers. We quickly got together an agreement and set out to pitch. We were late in terms of the customer’s meeting timeframe, but the customer allowed them to present their products anyway. We counselled them on their story and their pitch and watched them make an emotional connection with the buyer. This brand will get full chain placement at our customer in September.

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing your sector right now?The cost of goods due to tariffs, diesel and other cost increase factors.
