Why did you choose your industry?I have a passion for leadership and helping make the world a better place. People spend more time at work than at any other place. Their boss has a huge impact on their quality of life. If I help leaders become more effective, then people enjoy work more and the world becomes a better place.
Who are your typical clients?Organizations that believe that leadership matters and is worth the investment it takes to help people lead better. I often work with "hard hat" organizations (like manufacturing, oil & gas) that build or produce something tangible. Service organizations (hotels) that rely on interacting with people also benefit from my services
What do you like best about being in this industry?seeing someone have an "ah-ha" moment with something that really resonates with them. Realizing they can easily put something into practice and have it make a difference in therr life.
What are common problems you see?Too many people without enough practical leadership experience. They understand what people are supposed to do to lead well, but don't know understand how to do it in the environment their clients are in.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Leader people, manage thingsGive feedback using the "magic formula"Have a system for holding people accountableSet clear expectations and get a commitment on them

How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Referrals, keynote speaking, lunch and learns, my monthly leadership lunch, LinkedIn, asking for business, attending trade shows where my ideal clients are at, generating partnerships, demonstrating value at every opportunity
How involved are you in the community?I coach CrossFit at my local gym, Local organizations (PMI, ATD, SHRM), connect with the Veteran community,

What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Be ready for the grind.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Hiking, camping, home improvement projects, time with family, watching football
