On this episode of “5 Award Winning Minutes With,” our host, Stephen Seidel of The Seidel Agency, takes the time to speak with an inspiring entrepreneur doing great work in our community. In this segment, Stephen speaks with Aurica Bintintan of Active Senior Home Care.

Active Senior Home Care, established in 2006, was born out of my deep desire to create a warm, family-like environment for the elderly who can no longer live independently. Witnessing the challenges and hardships that come with aging, I became determined to find ways to improve the aging process, not only for my residents but for myself as well.

With the guidance of an osteopathic doctor, I discovered life-changing habits that allowed me to prolong my own health and vitality, even when hope seemed distant. These practices have shown me that aging doesn’t have to mean losing independence or feeling isolated.

Today, with the knowledge and success I’ve gained, I am passionate about sharing these insights. My mission now extends beyond senior care—I am committed to helping single women rediscover their independence, escape loneliness, and live fulfilling lives full of health, wealth, and community connection. At Active Senior Home Care, we believe in empowering every individual to thrive, no matter their stage of life.

How do you set yourself apart from other firms in the area?

With a background in economics, my journey into senior care wasn’t something I initially planned, but it was driven by my deep love and respect for seniors. Living closely with them, I came to understand how much they cherish companionship and how a simple smile or shared moment can bring them happiness. This inspired me to open my own assisted living facility, where I could dedicate myself to improving their quality of life.

Over time, I gained a deeper understanding of their needs and challenges, which fueled my commitment to not only make their lives easier but also to help others—especially women—reach this stage of life as healthily and gracefully as possible. My focus is on prevention, lifestyle habits, and hobbies that promote well-being, allowing people to age gracefully and maintain their independence longer.

Now, I am devoted to sharing my knowledge and experience, empowering others to take control of their health, and helping them build a lifestyle that leads to a joyful and fulfilled aging process.
What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?: One of my greatest accomplishments is how I feel at 77—full of energy, vibrant, and healthier than I’ve been in years. I’ve dedicated myself to exploring ways to age gracefully, focusing on preventive health, and creating a lifestyle that allows me to thrive. It’s a testament to the power of healthy habits and self-care. In addition, after 18 years, my assisted living facility continues to run successfully and has earned recognition in the community. This achievement means a lot to me, as it reflects the hard work and dedication I’ve put into providing a warm, caring environment for seniors. Finally, I’m proud to have published my first eBook, where I share my experiences and insights on health and well-being. With the success of my facility, I now have the opportunity to focus on my dream of empowering single women, helping them build health, wealth, and community for a fulfilling life.

How do you define success?

Success, for me, is not just about achieving goals or reaching milestones—it’s about living a life of purpose and making a positive impact on the world around you. It’s the fulfillment that comes from aligning your actions with your values and doing work that uplifts both yourself and others.

In my personal journey, I define success by:

Health and Well-being: Feeling energetic, vibrant, and able to live a full life at 77 is a true measure of success for me. It’s about caring for myself physically, mentally, and emotionally, so I can continue pursuing my dreams.

Empowering Others: Success also means using my experience and knowledge to empower others—especially single women—to live independently, with confidence and purpose. Helping others find health, wealth, and community is deeply rewarding.

Lasting Impact: I believe success is measured by the positive, lasting impact you leave on the lives of others. Whether through the care provided in my facility or the insights shared in my eBook, knowing I’ve made a difference in someone’s life brings me great fulfillment.

Ultimately, success is not just about what you achieve but who you become along the way and how you contribute to the well-being of others.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned over your career?

The most important lesson I’ve learned throughout my career is that small, consistent changes in our daily habits can lead to significant improvements over time. Simple steps, like staying hydrated, can have a profound impact on our well-being. It’s a reminder that we must take control of our health, one step at a time.

Life goes on, and as we age, it’s essential to stay flexible. We shouldn’t underestimate the aging process, but we also shouldn’t become prisoners to it. We are responsible for our bodies, and while medication can play a role, it’s important not to rely on it alone. There are lifestyle changes—like hydration, healthy eating, limiting caffeine, and daily exercise—that are within our control and can drastically improve how we age.

We all make mistakes along the way, and we may feel the consequences later in life. That’s why it’s important to pause, reflect, and adjust. Checking in on our habits, comparing them with where we are in life, and making changes can help us not just add days to our life but add life to our days.
