On this episode of Finding Your Frequency, your host, Brian Sexton, sits down and tunes in to conversations with some of the best and brightest creators, influencers, and entrepreneurs that Jacksonville has to offer. Today, Brian sits down with Chelsea Kavanagh of JAXPORT.

Short Company Description:

JAXPORT is Florida’s largest container port, a top U.S. vehicle port, and a national leader in the movement of breakbulk (non-containerized) cargo. One of the nation’s 17 Strategic Seaports, JAXPORT is the only port in Florida that moves U.S. military cargo for national security and other initiatives.
Cargo activity through Jacksonville’s seaport supports 207,000 jobs and $33 billion in annual economic output for Florida.

Who are you? (What’s important to you? Where are you from?):

I am a wife and working mom of two beautiful daughters. Family (pets included!) are my world. I was born in Jacksonville and raised in Pace, Florida (just outside of Pensacola).

Where do you want to go in life or in your business?:

I am proud to serve in a leadership role for JAXPORT, Northeast Florida’s economic engine. Looking to the future, I want to build on my ability to advocate for the continued success of Jacksonville’s port and the jobs and economic impact it creates for Florida. I also strive to set a good example for my children, showing them that hard work pays off in the long run.

What are you willing to do to get there?:

I am willing to roll up my sleeves and lead by example both at home and at work. I also practice “WMI,” and make discussions based on “What’s Most Important” (family and relationships take top priority).
