Welcome to the five minute salute. I’m your host, Chris Budihas. Today segment is sponsored by the Military Affairs and Veterans department of City of Jacksonville. Harrison Conyers. Their team helping our veterans out with the benefits they earned to their military service. Joining us is a veteran, Mike Rahut with Solid Steps Strategies. Mike, how are you? I’m doing great man.

Speaker 1
Thanks for coming on. It’s it’s always great to have another former Army guy. And I was just surrounded by Navy guys all morning. I feel kind of icky now. So it’s good to reconnect. I do too. I love them, you know, especially, that air support they bring when you really, really need it. So that’s awesome. Hey, for the audience, a little bit of background on you and where are you originally from and what you do in the Army?

Speaker 1
Man.

Speaker 1
Yeah. That’s awesome. Why did you choose, you know, your pivot, man, you could have done a lot of things. I mean, that’s the reality, but you chose to kind of get in this, you know, coaching, mentoring, you know, business development, business development. But but, development of, you know, leaders within business. Why did you choose to get into space?

Unknown
You know.

Unknown
I didn’t like.

Speaker 1
Yeah.

Unknown
I don’t.

Unknown
Really?

Speaker 1
Wow. That’s great. So, you know, I’m going to bring this out. You know, I’ve talked previously a lot of our peers as they leave the service, kind of want to get in the space. I, I highly encourage folks to pursue their credentialing, you know, the IFC certification in order to get, you know, I would say that, professional stamp of approval, so to speak.

Speaker 1
I think there’s one that credentialing piece and then two, it’s the education that comes along with it. Yeah. You can probably take some of the things you learned in the military through your education, experience, inexperience into the marketplace. But like all professions that we talk about in the military, there’s usually a bar to entry. There’s a requirement some some form of education experience, a certification, and there’s a self-policing aspect.

Speaker 1
So how important was IFC certification for you?

Unknown
Training in it.

Speaker 1
Yeah.

Unknown
Getting it. Back. Yeah.

Speaker 1
Yeah. And so with with solid steps. You know, your company. What kind of services do you provide for our audience out there that might need, you know, your, or, you know, I’ve seen need. That’s a good word for it. You need your type of services.

Speaker 1
Right.

Speaker 1
Away.

Speaker 1
Yeah.

Speaker 1
That’s.

Speaker 1
That’s great. And so, you know, the with the services, is there any specific business segments you work with or types or industries, or is it you’re just kind of it depends on, you know, across the board. It doesn’t matter what you’re an industry agnostic.

Unknown
Right.

Unknown
Right, right.

Speaker 1
Yeah.

Speaker 1
So, so a lot of people in this space, I like you. We’re friends. But what’s your value proposition? Why should they pick up the phone and call you today? Or email you by somebody else?

Unknown
You know, I am.

Speaker 1
Yeah. I.

Speaker 1
I gotcha. I think that speaks to quality there and I appreciate that. And then as we get ready to wrap up, so you’ve written a book, can you briefly tell us about this book you’ve written and.

Speaker 1
I.

Speaker 1

Speaker 1
Have.

Speaker 1
That’s awesome man. And number one, you know, about halfway through the book and it is a great story. Again, you know, what a wonderful nation we live in. You know, we’re a, you know, a truly are a melting pot. And that just demonstrates through this story many of families, you know, difficult struggles to leave. What was then their homeland to come to us to create, you know, you know, what a great life, you know, your family has had here.

Speaker 1
And then obviously your service as an extension of it. So I highly encourage folks to, you know, one, reach out to you with, solid step strategies to see what you’re doing. You know, connect with us both on LinkedIn and then, you know, pick up the book. So I imagine the books on Amazon correct.

Speaker 1

Speaker 1
Yeah. That’s awesome. So, Mike, one more time, how can people find solid step strategies and then how can they find you?

Speaker 1
Awesome. Well, I thank you for your service. Thank you for what you’re doing in your post military journey and coming here to talk about it. So that’s great. Look forward to staying in contact. Friend.

Speaker 1
No, thank you very much. I appreciate you taking the time. Hey folks, reach out to Mike and I love to connect with you on LinkedIn. Any conversation, solid steps, strategies if you need them, reach out to Mike. As he said, he’s looking for a partnership. You know he wants to work with you to make your organization and yourself a better version of yourself.

Speaker 1
We’re seeing you next segment and love with gratitude.
