Morgan:
Welcome back to another episode of Living My Faith, where we highlight those who are living their faith and spreading kingdom impact. I’m Morgan Allen, joined today by Betsy Waltrip with Your Rightsizing Advisor. Betsy, thank you so much for being here. Yes. So tell me about the great work that you’re doing.

Betsy:
Well, we reach out to the communities. I do a lot of work for the seniors. We go to the facilities, we host bingo, we serve meals. When the cold weather comes at church, we bring people in and we can feed them and let them spend the night. We do things like that. We reach out to the community and try to embrace.

Morgan:
It’s absolutely beautiful because yes, you do that with your own heart, just the giving back. But also you’ve oriented your life, your work around helping seniors as well. So tell us more about that.

Betsy:
Okay. Well, I have a service. We can do the real estate part of it, the estate sale part of it, the notary part. I go to the facilities or wherever the seniors are and notarize their documents. We have a certified personal property appraiser on staff that can appraise their coins, stamps, antiques for their wills or what have you.

And then the real estate part, if they have a bigger home and they want to right size to something smaller, we help them with that. Or if they need to get into assisted living, we can help them with that. And then we can sell the items inside the property so they can make some money. Also, they can’t take everything with them to a smaller place, so we help them with that. So everything is right sized and geared toward the seniors.

Betsy:
Yes. And so we were talking off set and you were saying it’s like the “Gracienami,” right? Because it’s the baby boomers. They’ve grown up. They’re not babies anymore. And yeah, so I’m here to assist them. I call it right sizing because downsizing just doesn’t sit well with me. They’re just in a different season of life, and I’m here to assist with all facets of that.

Morgan:
It’s amazing that you’ve made this so streamlined and so easy for them at a time that isn’t easy. Nothing’s easy for them at this time. And it helps their children or their loved ones because it does get overwhelming for them too. Mom and dad, they’re not always going to listen because they still see them as kids.

So if you bring an outsider like me who’s a professional, then we can talk to them and just make the transfer easy. That is so great. What’s your favorite part about what you do?

Betsy:
Oh, I love it all. I love it all. I’m really lucky that I have made this niche for me because everything about it is giving back, is helping. Some seniors, they just need that. The family needs that.

Morgan:
Yeah. It’s so good. And so let’s talk a little bit more on the faith side of things. Have you been able to weave faith into what you do every single day?

Betsy:
Yes. Like I was telling you off camera, every morning I’ll get my coffee and I do my best to sit in my chair and be still. Because life happens and you get busy. If I don’t do it first thing in the morning, I feel bad saying this, but it’s probably not going to get done.

Morgan:
It’s so true. That’s so human.

Betsy:
Yeah, I know. But I think God speaks to us when we’re just quiet. You sit and be quiet. He’s going to tell you what He wants to happen. So be still and know. I do my best to do that.

Morgan:
I love that. So tell me, what is one of your goals or where do you see the future of what you’re doing with our seniors?

Betsy:
Well, I want to continue. I am pivoting into the store that we had talked about. It’s going to be in Elkton, outside of Hastings. It’s an underserved community. I’m going to open a store and have a senior day where they can get the essentials they need. We’ll have a donation day where seniors can come and get what they need.

We’ll also try to make it where they can come in if they want to play bingo or crosswords or just have a little coffee section for them. They can come and socialize outside of where they are.

Morgan:
Yes, I love that.

Betsy:
I’m working on it. It’s a work in progress. God’s going to help me figure it out.

Morgan:
That’s fantastic. Everything you’re doing is so exciting. Is there anything I’m missing?

Betsy:
I think that’s pretty much it. But I’ll let you know if I decide to pop off something else. We just try to make it really smooth and easy for the seniors and for the family. We reach out to the community, and if there’s a need, we can fill that need or do our best to fill that need.

Morgan:
And if someone is looking for your services, like, okay, my dad is in this massive house, he’s got all these things, I have no clue where to start. How can they contact you?

Betsy:
They can give me a phone call at (904) 397-4748. My website is BetsyWaltrip.com. I’m all over social media, so however is easiest for them, I’m there for it.

Morgan:
Awesome. Well, thank you so much again.

Betsy:
Thanks. Yes, thank you.

Morgan:
