Why did you choose your industry?I didn’t choose the fashion and beauty industry—it chose me. From a young age, I was drawn to creativity, self-expression, and transformation. Designing, styling, and enhancing beauty have always come naturally to me. My passion for empowering others through fashion and self-care led me to create a brand that merges luxury with sustainability. This industry is my purpose, allowing me to inspire confidence and make a lasting impact.
Who are your typical clients?Sheridonna Designs’ typical clients are fashion-forward individuals over 30 who value luxury, sustainability, and effortless style. They seek high-quality, custom designs and expert styling to look chic, polished, and confident. They appreciate personalized service, exclusivity, and eco-conscious fashion that enhances their lifestyle while aligning with their values of elegance, and sophistication
What do you like best about being in this industry?I love creating and making a lasting impact in my clients’ lives. Fashion and beauty are more than appearances—they inspire confidence, transformation, and self-expression. Through my talent, I help clients become their best selves with styles that reflect their personality. I thrive on innovation, blending sustainability with luxury. Mentoring others and empowering confidence is my passion.
What are common problems you see?The fashion and beauty industry struggles with fast fashion waste, lack of personalization, unrealistic beauty standards, and low-quality materials. Many aspiring designers lack mentorship.I tackle these issues by offering sustainable fashion, personalized styling, and education, empowering clients to express themselves while promoting quality, diversity, and ethical practices.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?My advice for clients is to embrace their unique style and prioritize quality over quantity. Invest in timeless, sustainable pieces that reflect your personality and lifestyle. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your look, but always choose what makes you feel confident and comfortable. Take care of your skin, hair, and well-being, as beauty starts from within. Lastly, never underestimate the power of a good mindset—confidence is the key to truly owning any look.
When is your busy season?Our busy season typically aligns with major fashion events, the holiday season, and back-to-school periods. This is when clients seek custom designs, styling, and beauty services for special occasions, holiday parties, and new year transformations. Additionally, the launch of new collections and seasonal promotions often brings increased demand, making these times crucial for showcasing our unique offerings.
What keeps you up at night?What keeps me up at night professionally is ensuring that Sheridonna Designs, Sheridonna's Beauty Salon, and Unity Fashion Institute continue to deliver exceptional value and meet the evolving needs of my clients. Maintaining sustainability
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?To grow and expand my business, I focus on a blend of authenticity, strategic partnerships, and targeted marketing. I leverage social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok to showcase behind-the-scenes content, highlight client transformations, and promote new collections. I also use SEO strategies on my website and engage in influencer collaborations to broaden my reach and Networking.
How involved are you in the community?I am deeply involved in the community through Unity Fashion Institute & Unity Fashion Institute Foundation Inc.,, providing mentorship, fashion education, & resources to aspiring designers. I give back through workshops, speaking engagements, & initiatives that empower individuals in fashion, beauty, & entrepreneurship. My mission is to uplift, educate, and inspire others to pursue their dreams.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?My favorite nonprofit is Unity Fashion Institute Foundation Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) organization I founded in 2024. I am incredibly excited about its future and the impact we are having on our community and the world. Through this foundation, I get to live out my dream by empowering aspiring designers, giving back, and providing the skills, resources, and mentorship needed for success.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?If you're entering the fashion and beauty industry, ensure it's your true calling—passion will sustain you. Be authentic, stay true to your vision, and never compromise integrity. Surround yourself with great mentors, stay consistent, determined, and confident. Believe in yourself, dream big, and trust the process. Walk your path boldly, do the work, and let your impact speak louder than accolades
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?In my free time, I love to travel, sing, dance, and connect with my kids. Creativity fuels me, whether it's through artistic expression or embracing my childlike playfulness. I enjoy swimming, relaxing at the beach, and listening to music that uplifts my spirit. Reading and learning new skills keep me inspired, helping me grow personally and professionally while embracing life’s beauty.
