If you had one message to get across to future customers, what would it be?Not having a marketing and communications leader at the helm doesn't mean that you have to put your brand on pause.
What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?My biggest marketing challenge will be building capacity while scaling. Because I have had success with referrals, it is clear to me that I have a network that has confidence in me. However, to grow the business, I'll need people.

How has consumer behavior shifted in the digital age?With AI, businesses and other organizations are taking more of a DIY approach to marketing and communications. This is in addition to these entities already struggling to understand the ABCs of marketing and communications strategy.

What strategies are you using to create more authentic brand connections?Instead of branding the company, I’m leveraging my personal brand through storytelling and interpersonal interaction. I have found that I get traction with my prospects when they hear about my experiences, my passion for my work, and the insights that I’ve gained through past projects.

Can you share a recent campaign that exceeded expectations?As the interim chief communications officer at a small liberal arts college in the South, only three of the academic programs had landing pages. I singlehandedly built landing pages for the remaining academic programs in addition to saving the college hundreds of dollars by bringing website content updates in house.

What advice would you give to aspiring marketers today?Always remember that marketing is a business function.
