What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Continuing Resolutions and Government Shutdowns are expected to be the norm for the next three years and managing startup and founder expectations during these times will be important.

What is your approach to helping clients identify and solve key challenges? I help clients build a GovCon strategy from Day One.

How do you tailor your coaching or consulting style to different industries? Critical Technologies span the economy and OODAx has a bench of 1099s with past military experience and domain expertise in the technologies identified by DoD and the IC as critical.

What are the most common misconceptions about consulting? OODAx is not a traditional consultant. We are akin to a systems integrator for business development.

How do you measure the success of your client engagements? Follow-ups for demonstrations or exercise support that result in contract wins.

What trends are influencing the future of consulting and coaching? Mission Engineering is the proven way to win.

What’s the most rewarding part of your work? Winning. When a client calls and tells me, “dude, we won!” And I ask, “have you called your wife and kids?” And the client says, “not yet, you were my first call. I knew I had to call you!”

What skills do you think are essential for future consultants or coaches? If they want to sell to the US Government, it is to be a mission engineer and to work backwards from the warfighter at the edge vice the desk in the pentagon or at one of the service’s systems command.
