All welcome you to another edition of The Horse’s Mouth here at Tommy Mac’s, of course, at my bar, where everybody has a chance to grab a seat and get a chance to tell their story. Brought to you by my good friends at Foodies Care, a great organization helping people out there, and the Daily News Network right here where this studio is.
Speaker 2
Got some old friends here at the bar, the OGs of the raw, the NFL alumni and the ladies are here. And we’re going to talk about a great event that’s coming up in about a couple of weeks. So let’s welcome in the panel. Missy Freemans up first. Hey, Missy. Hey how are you? Good to see you, Adam. Kenny, how are you?
Speaker 2
Good to see you. Good to see you again, Donna. How are you? How’s everything? Donna Windsor, coach stuff. How are you? Great to see you, Donna. Always a pleasure, miss. She brings back so many memories. We’re talking off air. How long ago it was? We won’t say the number, but it was a long, long time ago, wasn’t it?
Speaker 2
But you girls are still doing great work in the community. Missy, I’ll start with you. Tell us about the awesome event coming up for the NFL alumni here.
Speaker 1
We’re doing the NFL alumni golf tournament. It’s our second one. Yeah. It’s February 13th at Saint John’s Golf and Country. Okay. Raising money for caring for cancer.
Speaker 2
Cool.
Speaker 1
Awesome to have our legends. Yes. Come back and play and celebrity captains with our teams.
Speaker 2
And it’s on a Friday, which I think is really, special and really smart at the weekend going off right, playing a little golf, raise some money and hang out with some NFL cheerleaders. How bad can it be? Not bad at all. I think it’s pretty damn good. Pretty good. Well, great to have you on the show, Adam.
Speaker 2
How are you, my man? Good to see you, Tom. Again. How’s life treating you?
Speaker 3
Life is treating us well. Thanks for.
Speaker 2
All right. So your company, the wraps. Direct wraps direct. You are one of the big sponsors of this great event. Tell us why. First and foremost.
Speaker 3
Well, because of these wonderful ladies and this great cause. I mean, who doesn’t want to get involved with helping kids? Yeah, and that’s what we’re all about, you know, serving our community and giving back. And, I had an opportunity to play in this tournament last year. We had such a blast. I told the ladies as I was leaving last year, I’m like, I’m coming in as a as a as a sponsor for nice.
Speaker 2
And Missy right away was like, I think my brain is like.
Speaker 3
I think I got an invoice the day late now.
Speaker 2
I think, yeah, that’s right. Real quick.
Speaker 3
Yeah. So, we’re celebrating our 11th year in business here in Jacksonville. We’re a father and son operation. We serve the nation with vehicle raps, mostly fleets. Yeah. So anybody that’s out there that’s a franchise or a national company that needs repeatable results with a guarantee and a warranty. That’s us. That’s what we do nationwide every day, day in, day out.
Speaker 2
That’s great man, that’s great. You’re from Jersey originally,
Speaker 3
First, yeah, first and foremost. But, celebrating my, 20, 24th year here in Jacksonville. All right.
Speaker 2
Since 2006. Nice. Great place to.
Speaker 3
Live. Terrific place to live. My favorite out of all three hometowns.
Speaker 2
There you go.
Speaker 3
Yeah, I live outside of Philly, so I’m an Eagles fan. All right. I lived outside of Detroit. So the Lions fan. And I’m happy to be a Jaguars fan. Yeah, I think both of those two teams have prepared me to be a proper Jacksonville. That’s super excited about this last year. Yeah. Where the team’s going. Great coaching.
Speaker 2
Great Donna. Ever since you’ve been done you’re always been involved with the alumni. You always been doing events. You and the ladies have done a great job with that. What drives you to do that?
Speaker 4
Well, I mean, I’ve always been big in helping people in need. Yeah. And yeah, NFL has a beautiful platform for sure. You know that. Not just the athleticism but just the ambassadors that we have. Yeah, all the women, the men, they have such great motivation. Yeah. And that’s what drives me to do.
Speaker 2
Yeah. And togetherness and the great after all these years we’re still friends. And you see each other. You don’t miss a beat like you. Like you haven’t. You like even if you haven’t seen each other a while ago. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Absolutely.
Speaker 4
Rolling 21.
Speaker 2
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah something like. That’s right. That’s right coach you always part of giving back to the community man I know you love the NFL as much as everybody else. And being a part of that whole, that whole platform.
Speaker 5
Well, you know, it’s special here because at 28 years I coach in the NFL, I haven’t seen the dedication that these folks give back and that the community and I was privileged to go to the camp this summer with the Jets coaching. It was cheering. Yeah. Girls with young men and young ladies. And what they do, the energy and the parents they have fresh off the charts.
Speaker 5
Yeah. The giving back to the community that this group does. It’s super.
Speaker 2
Yeah it’s massive. No doubt about me around it. Okay. What kind of, environment are golf for people watching this show? Like, oh, I want to I want to go to that event. I want to be a foursome in this one. What are they going to? What are they going to experience other than playing awesome golf and maybe having a libation in between holes here and there?
Speaker 2
What else?
Speaker 1
They’re going to get you the day of the event. That’s right.
Speaker 2
That’s right, that’s right. Horse’s mouth will be there.
Speaker 1
Yeah. It’s just going to be a great venue. We’ve got some cigars that are going to be out on the court. Okay. Got some, PGA players out there. We’ve got a bunch of really cool, silent auction items donated from the community. Cool. And it’s just going to be a great, great event. The the blaster.
Speaker 1
The gun blaster. Matt.
Speaker 2
Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4
Yeah, yeah. Well, too. And the winner of the same represents our chapter at the Super Bowl of golf.
Speaker 2
Oh, really?
Speaker 4
Oh, so whoever wins will represent our chapter, and it’s all expense paid. Okay. And it will be in Arizona this year. Wow.
Speaker 2
So if you’re for some, like you’re going for something here. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 4
Wow. So I think that’s what this is unique. Yep. Is not only are they giving back for a cause, but in turn they’re representing our chapter right after the Super Bowl. So that’s why it’s called the bowl a golf qualifier.
Speaker 2
So cool. So do you think about yeah yeah yeah. Got it. What. Look how many guys go to these things and they dying to win. That’s I mean they’re like like I’m like man I hit the ball all over the place. I’m just here for some guys for like, I’m winning this week. I mean, if you’re with Scott over, you’re probably got a chance of winning something because that guy, you have an opportunity.
Speaker 5
To get a prize like.
Speaker 2
That or you can’t. What a great price. Yeah. Absolutely. All right. So people that are watching and want to part, how can they what’s the easiest way for them to get signed up if they want to join.
Speaker 4
They can either go to the NFL Alumni Jacksonville Facebook page okay. Or it’s give button.com. Well and we’ll give that to you at the end. Yep. No but it’s give better.com okay. Backslash NFL alumni dot I think it’s stuff it’s.
Speaker 1
NFL a.
Speaker 4
Golf NFL.
Speaker 2
Okay.
Speaker 4
Cool. Yeah. So it’s on a button. But if they just put NFL alumni Jacksonville golf tournament. Yeah it should pull up anywhere okay.
Speaker 2
That’s fantastic. Absolutely absolutely. All right. Since we have JAG fans and JAG people and coaches and whatnot. Favorite Jaguar moment of all time. Missy, I’ll start with you. When you’re cheering or watching or whatever. What was your favorite moment time.
Speaker 1
1996, when we did the AFC Championships and we went to the Patriots. Yeah, man. We rented the airplane and flew the whole practice squad and the boosters there. That’s right. All time favorite high.
Speaker 2
That is fantastic for me.
Speaker 3
For me. Would have to be our eighth victory in a row this last year. All right. Just eight in a row. Wow. That’s unbelievable.
Speaker 2
It was unbelievable blessing from last year.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Oh yeah I think they got the most big of biggest transformation for a team.
Speaker 2
Yeah yeah I mean the Pats.
Speaker 3
Yeah that’s really me. And parts are in it to share.
Speaker 2
It with you. What’s your favorite memory. You got one. You probably have a ton of them.
Speaker 4
Oh I do my all time is when you guys flew back from Denver.
Speaker 2
Yeah.
Speaker 4
Yeah, we were out all on the field. Oh, yeah. Midnight to about two in the morning.
Speaker 2

Speaker 4
Waiting for you guys to come in and Cheering. You got yeah. When we you know yeah. Made the playoffs.
Speaker 2
Yeah. Beat Denver that night.
Speaker 4
That’s right. Yeah. Small town.
Speaker 2
That’s right. Yeah it was I I don’t back then there’s like 40,000 people understand I remember 40,000 people.
Speaker 4
And I’m like what are these people going to sleep. But I was just so excited.
Speaker 2
I’ll never forget we’re in a massive like seven six whatever jumbo jet. And I was on the window and I remember we all kind of like not awake because it was so late and the pilot gets on. He’s like, hey, take a look who’s at the stadium. And he does this like 1000ft, like you can see face, Lord, holy cow, will kill all those people.
Speaker 2
And the next thing you know, we got a caravan down. It was just an awesome time in our lives. No doubt. Coach, how about you, man? You’ve been, a Jaguar component for a long time.
Speaker 5
I think it was oh seven when I was coaching here. We beat the Steelers twice. Yes, that was huge. I don’t think it’s ever been done, but, I thought it was, really a special time for. Yeah no doubt. And everything that they’re talking about. How great was this place? I mean, yeah.
Speaker 2
You all.
Speaker 5
Got spoiled early because.
Speaker 2
We did. So. Yeah, yeah, yeah, coaches like the coaches like me.
Speaker 5
We were looking and saying, wow, what a great things going on. You know, happened real quick.
Speaker 2
That Del Rio team was great. That was a good team. You guys had some really physical tough teams, a lot of.
Speaker 5
Great players in that.
Speaker 2
You did. Who was your linebacking corps? You had Peterson mopey.
Speaker 5
And Gerald Schmidt 2 to 2. The most productive linebackers, no.
Speaker 2
Doubt.
Speaker 5
Like me at that time I think was the all time leader and Darryl was number two. Yeah, I think Mike’s number four now. But I had the privilege to coach Paul plus Leslie too.
Speaker 2
So yeah, it was great too.
Speaker 5
Was blessed to have great players.
Speaker 2
He could have handle which she part of that too. He just left. He had just left. Okay. Well those three names alone, man. Just kidding me. That’s, royalty. Bless me, no doubt, you know. Well, all right, guys and gals, thanks so much for being here. I’ll be out there next Friday, right? Yeah. Two Fridays, two Fridays.
