On Sunday, February 15 beginning at 3:00 pm, members of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR)-Jacksonville chapter in partnership with the Mandarin Community Club, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Children of the American Revolution-Princess Malee Society, Vaughn-Latham Society and Scouts from Troop 50 will host a Flag Retirement Ceremony at the Mandarin Community Club, 12447 Mandarin Road Jacksonville. The public is invited to attend and will learn more about the history of our “Stars and Stripes.” The SAR Chapter formally retire the hundreds of unserviceable flags that the Community Club collects throughout the year. Anyone wishing to properly dispose of their American Flag may drop it off at the designated receptacle, often found on the front porch at the Mandarin Country Club.

The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and teaching American history to future generations. To gain membership, verifiable blood line proof to a descendent who fought in the Revolutionary War is required.
