End Alzheimer’s Motorsports

What is the core mission of your organization? End Alzheimer’s Motorsports objective is to use racing as a means to create awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease and to raise funds to help support those with the disease as well as their caregivers. We are passionate about combining our love of racing with our dedication to charity and philanthropy in support of those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.

What are your biggest fundraising or outreach challenges? Getting the word out! As a very small (but growing) nonprofit, we do not have a marketing budget or marketing staff. And, we desperately want to avoid/reduce admin expenses so that the donations support the cause to the max extent possible.

Can you share a story that shows your mission in action? End Alzheimer’s Motorsports is proud to support the Do What You Love to End ALZ program. To date, 100% of the funds that we have raised has gone to this campaign. Do What You Love to End ALZ is a flexible fundraiser that starts with you doing something you love to support the Alzheimer’s Association. No matter what your passion is, you can make it a fundraiser to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. During our short existence, we have raised over $40,000 to fight the disease and we are immensely proud of that.

What keeps you motivated in this work? It’s my family’s personal experience with Alzheimer’s that keeps me motivated. My father in law passed away from this horrible disease, and that is the inspiration for the nonprofit. In addition, having people come up to me to explain how Alzheimer’s has impacted them is especially moving and greatly drives our mission and cause.
