Lakeland, FL – One More Child is proud to announce the grand opening and dedication ceremony of its new Jacksonville Compassion Center on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. The event will take place at the Compassion Center’s facility in Jacksonville, FL. Community leaders, donors, partner churches and organizations are invited to join us as we mark this important milestone in our mission to serve vulnerable children and struggling families.
The Jacksonville Compassion Center will offer vital resources and support services for foster youth, single mothers and families facing food insecurity. This new hub underscores One More Child’s commitment as a Christian nonprofit to address foster care challenges and child hunger in Northeast Florida. Attendees will hear brief remarks recognizing those whose generosity and dedication have brought this project to life, followed by a ribbon-cutting and facility tour.
“Our team is excited to open this center as a beacon of hope for families in Jacksonville,” said Joe McLeod, Director of Public Relations for One More Child. “By uniting local churches, businesses and volunteers, we aim to expand our reach and deliver compassionate care where it’s needed most.”
One More Child operates in 29 states and 19 countries, providing direct services to 271,193 children and individuals in 2024. An additional 100,692 people benefited from advocacy, training and volunteer initiatives. Nationally and globally, the organization delivered more than 18.7 million meals last year alone. This expansion in Jacksonville builds on a track record of delivering foster care support, combating child hunger and equipping communities to protect the most vulnerable.
