How long have you been in your industry?25

Why did you choose your industry?I had an opportunity to be a software analyst when joining the military in the 90's. I knew it was the way of the future.

Who are your typical clients?Small to mid sized business and small non profits.

What do you like best about being in this industry?Being in IT, I have been able to work in so many different industries. The skills learned in getting an IT project to production, transfer across industries as well as different skills in the business world. Having started in the military, then switching to the civilian world, I learned the most important lesson - develop a great process, follow it, continually improve.

What are common problems you see?The most common problem is not identifying expectations. In life and business, it is critical to level set. Whether building a brand new system, upgrading or buying a new software, understanding what your customer needs and how the solution will work - along with identifying gaps makes all the difference in determining success and delivering successful outcomes.

What advice/tips do you have for clients?Know what is really important and stay focused. Too many times people get hung up on the little things that don't really matter. Develop a list of priorities, understand what happens if they aren't met. Get them as close to perfect as possible, acknowledge not everything needs to be done right away - stay focused on what matters!

How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Linked in, social media, networking events, and word of mouth.

How involved are you in the community?Just finished serving as an officer at the local American Legion. I am on the city Zoning board of Macclenny. I am on the board of Santa is coming the Baker.

What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Friends of Baker County Animals, and The American Legion

What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?If you don't try, the answer is already no. There is no way to know if you are going to succeed or not, but guaranteed, if you don't try - you won't! Take a risk and invest in yourself.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Volunteering, DIY, crafts and water activities
