How long have you been in your industry?3
Why did you choose your industry? We chose wellness because we've seen how pain, stress, and limited mobility quietly steal quality of life. Assisted stretching is a practical, fast-impact service that helps people move better, recover faster, and stay active. We love combining a wellness mindset with genuine coaching to help clients feel results they can measure and live.
Who are your typical clients? Our typical clients are busy professionals with desk-related tightness, active adults and athletes focused on performance/recovery, and older adults who want to stay independent and mobile. On the corporate side, we support teams in healthcare, logistics, education, hospitality, and office environments to reduce aches, stress, and injury risk.
What do you like best about being in this industry?Seeing real meaningful change—less pain, better sleep, improved posture, and people returning to the activities they love. I also enjoy building relationships and creating wellness experiences that boost confidence and energy, whether it’s a one-on-one session or a company-wide program.
What are common problems you see?One-size-fits-all programs, inconsistent coaching, and quick fixes with no plan for progress. Many people also wait until pain is severe before taking action. In workplaces, wellness can be “check-the-box” instead of targeted to job demands and measurable outcomes.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Start small and stay consistent—mobility improves with repetition, not intensity. Prioritize hips, hamstrings, and upper back if you sit a lot, and add breathing to downshift stress. Don’t stretch into sharp pain; aim for gentle tension. Pair stretching with hydration, walking, and basic strength work. Track progress (range of motion, pain, sleep, performance) so you can adjust the plan and keep momentum.
When is your busy season?January–April (New Year goals, races, golf/tennis season, tourist travel). Corporate demand also spikes around benefits planning and wellness fairs.
What keeps you up at night?Making sure we consistently deliver a high-touch experience at scale—great coaching, strong follow-up, and measurable outcomes—while staying visible in a crowded wellness market and building long-term corporate partnerships.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business? We grow through referral partnerships, local events/pop-ups, social content that educates and builds trust, and targeted outreach to HR/benefits leaders for corporate wellness. We focus on clear outcomes (pain relief, recovery, productivity), strong follow-up, and member testimonials to improve conversion and retention.
How involved are you in the community? We serve through our church community, volunteer efforts, and local partnerships—supporting events, donating services for fundraisers, and bringing mobility education to schools, gyms, and community groups. We aim to be present, generous, and relationship-driven, not just promotional.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity? We love supporting organizations that strengthen families and meet practical needs in our community—especially local church-driven outreach, youth programs, and groups focused on food insecurity and healthcare access. (If you share your specific favorite, I can tailor this exactly.)
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Obsess over client experience and retention, not just sales. Build systems for follow-up, partnerships, and consistent service quality. Learn how to communicate benefits in simple outcomes clients care about (pain, sleep, performance, stress). And be patient—community trust compounds over time.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?I recharge outdoors—riding my motorcycle, spending time at the beach, camping and fishing when I can, and most of all being with my family. Anything that gets us outside, moving, and making memories is a win.
