Jacksonville, FL – The Military Affairs and Veterans Department (MAVD) highlights its Career & Employment Services, a program designed to connect Veterans with meaningful work, education and business opportunities in the Jacksonville area. Effective immediately, this comprehensive service offers job placement, resume support and one-on-one career counseling to help military members transition confidently into civilian roles.
Veterans often possess unique skills—but translating that experience into a civilian résumé can be challenging. MAVD’s Career & Employment Services addresses this gap by pairing each veteran with an expert counselor who tailors strategies for job searches, refines interview techniques and highlights core strengths on resumes. Whether a veteran seeks local jobs for veterans in manufacturing, technology or public service, this program streamlines access to hiring employers in Northeast Florida.
In addition to personalized career counseling, the service offers:
• Job placement assistance – leveraging a network of employers committed to hiring veterans
• Resume development – professional editing to translate military experience into civilian terms
• Business and education referrals – guidance on entrepreneurship programs and training courses
“Our veterans have given so much,” said Tiffany Morales, Outreach Manager at MAVD. “With Career & Employment Services, we’re proud to deliver the targeted support they deserve—ensuring successful transitions, boosting veteran job placement and strengthening our community.”
Career & Employment Services is part of the City of Jacksonville’s ongoing commitment to Veterans through its Military Affairs & Veterans Department (MAVD). By expanding MAVD jobs and pathways, MAVD brings invaluable skill development and local employment opportunities directly to those who served.
