The One More Day Movement, Inc.

What is the biggest operational challenge that you will face in the upcoming year? Funding

What is the core mission of your organization? To raise awareness on mental health, train in suicide and crisis prevention throughout the community. Make safe places where people can talk without judgement.

How do you measure impact and success in your programs? Follow up training/outreach to other organizations, how comfortable individuals are on speaking about mental health and suicide after trainings are complete, and if they continue to follow the nonprofit on social media and stay involved in the mission.

What are your biggest fundraising or outreach challenges? Getting donations

How do you build long-term relationships with donors and supporters? Social media presence, follow up, community partnerships.

Can you share a story that shows your mission in action? A recent youth group discussion I did in a small setting with kids who know each other well and spend time together on a weekly basis, reported suicidal ideation at 60%, previous suicide attempts at 30%, and all reported past traumas including sexual assault, that no one else knew about.

What keeps you motivated in this work? Because there is a great need, and I believe in what I’m doing. Regardless of the challenges I face, giving up is not an option. We need to break the silence.
