Michael Glass
Founder at Glass Effect

Short company description:
Glass Effect builds custom internal tools for small businesses in Jacksonville that have outgrown spreadsheets. We turn the way your shop already works into software that fits it, with nothing to configure and no per-seat subscription.
If you had one message to get across to future customers, what would it be?
Your business already has a process. It should have software to match.
What differentiates you from the competition?
I don’t sell a product you have to bend your business around. The suites like monday.com and ClickUp make you configure their idea of a workflow and charge per seat forever. The industry-specific tools are built and priced for companies ten times your size. I sit down with you, learn how your shop actually runs, and build that. Flat cost, no configuration, nothing to maintain on your end. And I’ve spent 18 years building software people use every day, so the tool is designed, not just coded.
What is a trade group or networking group that you are a part of?
I’m currently looking at joining some local groups. BNI especially, and local small business groups.
What is your biggest achievement in your career?
Going from writing every line of code myself to running product for a software company, and then, this year, building a company where AI agents do the coding and I do the thinking. Twenty years in, and the job still changes every five.
If you could sit down for lunch with 1 person (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
Steve Jobs. He had an incredible ability to see through and into ideas that I try to emulate every day, and I’d love some tips on how he did it.
What event (sporting, networking, music, festival, business) would you like to attend in the next 12 months?
I’m a die-hard Miami Hurricanes fan, so I’m gonna say the CFP National Championship game in Vegas, as long as Miami makes it!
