Heritage Church
What role does technology play in spreading your message? Technology helps us extend our ministry beyond the walls of the church. Through livestreaming, social media, our website, and online communication, people can connect with worship, teaching, prayer, and community wherever they are. It also helps us share resources, communicate opportunities to grow and serve, and create a welcoming first step for those who may not yet feel ready to attend in person.
What challenges are ministries facing in the modern world? Ministries today are navigating cultural division, declining trust in institutions, changing patterns of church participation, and increasing emotional, financial, and relational needs. Technology creates new opportunities for connection, but it can also contribute to isolation and misinformation. The challenge is to remain faithful to the message of Jesus while communicating it clearly, caring for people well, and creating genuine community in a rapidly changing world.
What initiatives are you leading to serve vulnerable populations? I lead missions and outreach partnerships that serve vulnerable children, families, and adults both locally and globally. These include our partnership with a community in Ethiopia, Christmas outreach that helps families provide gifts with dignity, Night to Shine for individuals with disabilities, and support for organizations serving older adults, women facing unexpected pregnancies, and people with practical needs. Our goal is not simply to meet immediate needs, but to build relationships, preserve dignity, and support lasting transformation.
How can younger generations be more involved in ministry? Younger generations should be given meaningful opportunities to serve now, not treated as future participants. We are developing ministry experiences designed specifically for children and youth rather than simply adapting adult programs. Through partnerships between our children’s ministry and missions, they learn about church planting, Bible translation, and global missions. Our youth also participate in education and simulations focused on poverty, immigration, and cross-cultural ministry. Age should never be a barrier to serving God, and we want young people to know they can make a difference right here and right now.
