How long have you been in your industry?2 years
Why did you choose your industry?I chose to work in cybersecurity because I’ve always been drawn to solving complex challenges that have real-world impact. With cyber threats evolving rapidly, I saw an opportunity to help businesses protect their infrastructure and data, especially in critical industries like energy, oil & gas, and utilities. Cybersecurity allows me to blend my technical expertise with strategic consulting, ensuring organizations stay secure while driving innovation.
Who are your typical clients? My typical clients are IT and OT executives in energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, automotive, data centers, and transportation. They use my expertise to secure industrial networks, OT systems, and critical assets against cyber threats. From power grids to data centers, I help protect operations with Zero Trust solutions and advanced security strategies to ensure resilience.
What do you like best about being in this industry? What I enjoy most about cybersecurity is the constant evolution of challenges and the real-world impact of protecting critical infrastructure. I like working with diverse industries like energy, oil & gas, and manufacturing, helping them stay ahead of threats. The mix of problem-solving, innovation, and strategic consulting keeps things exciting, and I take pride in securing systems th
What are common problems you see?Common problems in cybersecurity include legacy systems vulnerable to attacks, a lack of OT/IT security integration, and evolving cyber threats. Many organizations struggle with limited visibility, compliance challenges, and secure remote access. As threats grow more sophisticated, companies must adopt Zero-Trust models, stronger access controls, and proactive threat detection to stay ahead.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Adopt a Zero-Trust approach—never automatically trust users or devices. Segment networks to limit attack surfaces and conduct regular risk assessments. Strengthen security with MFA, continuous monitoring, and OT/IT integration. Lastly, train employees—human error is a significant risk. Proactive strategies help prevent breaches before they happen.
When is your busy season?Cybersecurity is a year-round priority, but activity spikes during budget planning seasons (Q1 & Q4) when companies allocate security spending. Regulatory deadlines, major cyber incidents, and industry events also drive demand. Critical industries like energy, oil & gas, and manufacturing often ramp up security efforts before audits, new deployments, or after high-profile breaches.
What keeps you up at night? The constant evolution of cyber threats and how quickly attackers adapt keeps me up at night. Many organizations still use outdated security measures, leaving critical infrastructure vulnerable. I’m focused on helping clients stay ahead with proactive security strategies.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?I market myself through thought leadership by sharing insights on industry trends and security solutions on platforms like LinkedIn. I also focus on networking, attending events, and engaging with key stakeholders to build trusted relationships. This approach helps me stay visible and foster meaningful connections that drive growth.
How involved are you in the community?I’m involved in the community by participating in cybersecurity awareness initiatives and mentoring aspiring professionals, mainly from underrepresented backgrounds. I engage in local tech meetups and share insights on trends. Volunteering with education nonprofits helps students understand digital safety.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?I’m passionate about supporting cybersecurity education initiatives that help empower the next generation of professionals, especially in underserved communities. I also believe in the importance of organizations focusing on sustainability and environmental protection, aligning with my values.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?I’d advise anyone in cybersecurity to develop technical skills and business acumen. Stay curious and adaptable, as the threat landscape is constantly evolving. Networking is essential—connect with industry experts and seek hands-on experience through certifications or internships to stay ahead.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?In my free time, I enjoy relaxing and recharging at the beach. I lead an active lifestyle, incorporating regular workouts into my routine. I also enjoy hanging out with friends, whether catching up over a meal or enjoying outdoor activities. Balance and staying active are key to maintaining my energy and focus.
