How long have you been in your industry?20+
Why did you choose your industry?I love to learn, and tech—especially cybersecurity—is always evolving. It’s one of the few fields where change is constant and challenges are complex, giving me an endless supply of problems to solve and skills to master.
Who are your typical clients? Our typical clients are families, seniors, and educators—people who are highly vulnerable to digital scams but underserved by traditional cybersecurity tools. We also support schools and retirement communities looking for proactive, easy-to-use online safety solutions.
What do you like best about being in this industry?I love that this industry is always evolving. Cybersecurity is a constant puzzle—new threats, new technologies, new ways to protect people. It keeps me learning, thinking creatively, and building tools that make a real difference in people’s lives.
What are common problems you see?The biggest problem in cybersecurity is human error—people falling for phishing scams, using weak passwords, or not recognizing digital threats. Most tools are built for experts, not everyday users. As attacks grow more sophisticated, the average person is left behind without clear, accessible protection. That’s the gap we’re closing with ZoraSafe.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Don’t wait until something goes wrong to care about cybersecurity. Use strong, unique passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and stay skeptical of unexpected messages or links. Most importantly, educate yourself and your family—it’s the best long-term defense. Cybersecurity isn’t just about tools, it’s about habits.
When is your busy season? Our busiest seasons are typically late summer and early fall—when schools are back in session and families are setting up new devices—and during the holidays, when online scams surge alongside shopping and travel activity. These are prime times for digital threats, making proactive protection even more critical.
What keeps you up at night? What keeps me up at night is the widening gap between evolving cyber threats and user awareness. Scammers are getting smarter, faster—using AI and deepfakes to trick even tech-savvy users. Most tools don’t teach people how to spot danger. I’m driven to close that gap before more lives are disrupted.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business? We use a multi-channel strategy combining grassroots outreach with digital campaigns. This includes educational content marketing, targeted ads, referral incentives, and partnerships with schools, senior centers, and community organizations. We also participate in pitch competitions, accelerator programs, and industry events to boost visibility and credibility.
How involved are you in the community?ZoraSafe actively hosts free community education events, offering talks and workshops on topics like cybersecurity 101, scam and fraud prevention, and digital safety for families and seniors. We believe empowering people with knowledge is the first step to protection, and we’re committed to making cybersecurity approachable and accessible for everyone in our community.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity? Some of my favorite nonprofits include Operation Shamrock and the Internet Watch Foundation, both of which work to protect people—especially vulnerable groups—from online exploitation and scams. I’m also a supporter of Girls Who Code for their commitment to closing the gender gap in tech and empowering the next generation of innovators.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Cybersecurity is fast-paced and constantly evolving—so be ready to learn every day. Focus on solving real problems, not just building cool tech. Start with a clear mission, understand your users deeply, and build trust through transparency and usability. Most importantly: stay agile, stay ethical, and never underestimate the value of strong partnerships.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?In my free time, I travel whenever I can, usually with a camera in hand. I’m big on photography, especially catching weird or beautiful moments most people miss. I read a lot—mostly sci-fi and thrillers—and my dogs make sure I get outside and hit the dog parks, whether I planned to or not.
