Why did you choose your industry?I chose what I am doing now to be of service to others and sharing my expertise. In my previous business, in 1996, I started a digital first company providing digital transformation work. I chose the industry as I knew it was going to be big.
Who are your typical clients?Today, I work with entrepreneurs and executives. Small to medium sized businesses.
What do you like best about being in this industry?Today, I like helping people reach their potential. It's fulfilling for me.
What are common problems you see?In this new chapter I am in, I see a lot of people providing coaching, consulting, etc. without the track record of success to necessarily qualify them to provide such services.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Depends on the situation. In a high level summary, mindset is crucial for success. I have a framework called the Five Elements of Success that I write about in my book, Business Kung Fu. This framework provides a model for entrepreneurs and professionals to follow in attaining success in their endeavors.
When is your busy season?N/A
What keeps you up at night?Nothing. I am in a very good place.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?I am on a lot of podcasts and I post on social.
How involved are you in the community?I belong to a number of executive and business professional groups.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?I have a friend that started a non-profit for at-risk youth called Guerilla Community Movement. I just joined the advisory board.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?This new chapter is still new for me so I don't have much to say here. Other than, make sure you have a track record of success to lean on first.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?I am a Doctor of Chinese Energetic Medicine and I work with a lot of people in this capacity. I am also integrating it into my consulting practice.
