Why did you choose your industry?Passionate about people: what makes them tick, how do you engage them to accomplish your goals, etc. People are fascinating.
Who are your typical clients?small businesses that are focused on growth; growth plans that require them to hire employees that can impact those growth goals. Service industry companies (Plumbers, electricians, HVAC, etc,), sales teams looking to improve performance are both examples of ideal clients
What do you like best about being in this industry?No two companies are alike. Even when they do the exact same thing, HOW they do it is unique to each company. The "work" never gets old.
What are common problems you see?[Defining "industry" as small businesses] Too often business owners lose sight of the fact that everything in their business costs them TIME or MONEY, even if they don't see the dollars leave their hands. Helping them understand how important it is to have the right people in the right seats on their bus is a focus on more effectively manage their time and their money.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Know your strengths and leverage them to achieve your success. Embrace your blind spots and surround yourself with people that can cover your blind spots.
When is your busy season?Seasonality isn't a thing for us.
What keeps you up at night?Nothing. Everyday I focus on helping people think through their thoughts, exploring ways that I can help them move forward and being a resource that enables them to find balance in their life as a small business owner. That's enough for me.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?I leverage the typical solution sets that all small businesses use (e.g., website, social media, blog posts, out reaches, etc.). The most effective approach for Top Built Teams is in person interaction. I spend a significant amount of time networking and meeting small business owners.
How involved are you in the community?New to the area and exploring new ways to get involved. Fundamentally, I focus on Veterans and their needs.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?I am a veteran owned business. So, you put "veteran" in any part of your tagline or your mission and I am signing up before you describe your need.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Be curious, be present and focus on trying to bring something, a gift, to every interaction. Focus your efforts on helping people get unstuck or increase their traction in every interaction.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?pickelball, tennis, golf, biking, be outdoors.
