How long have you been in your industry?13 years
Why did you choose your industry?I chose this industry because I’m passionate about empowering individuals to unlock their full potential, especially those who’ve faced significant barriers. Career development, workforce training, and leadership consulting allow me to combine purpose with strategy, helping others rise, rebuild, and lead confidently. This work isn’t just a profession—it’s a calling rooted in personal experience, community impact, and a deep belief in second chances and sustainable success.
Who are your typical clients? My typical clients are professionals, workforce development agencies, community-based organizations, reentry programs, mid-career leaders, returning citizens, small businesses and nonprofits, students and emerging professionals, Military, and veterans. Each client shares a common goal: to grow with purpose, lead with vision, and build a meaningful path forward.
What do you like best about being in this industry?I love the ability to drive transformation. Whether I’m coaching professionals in transition or partnering with organizations on workforce strategy, my goal is to help people move forward with confidence and purpose. I’m passionate about creating pathways to success and helping clients unlock their next level.
What are common problems you see?Great question. Common problems I see in this industry is (1) the disconnect between talent and opportunity. (2) Many organizations often focus on short-term placement over long-term development. (3) The lack of culturally competent support, particularly in workforce development and reentry programs. That’s why I focus on building bridges, not just programs, between people and opportunities.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?1.Lead with clarity, not just credentials. 2.Build a career portfolio, not just a résumé. Employers want to see what you’ve done—so showcase your work, results, and brand in a format that speaks beyond bullet points.3.Invest in your growth. Whether it’s coaching, networking, or certifications. Don’t underestimate your lived experience. Your story, resilience, and perspective are part of your power—own it and let it guide how you show up.
When is your busy season? My busiest seasons typically align with key points in the workforce development cycle: January–March: New year goals May–July: Graduation, internships, and summer work programs. September–November: Fall hiring season/holidays
What keeps you up at night?Knowing how many talented individuals are overlooked, underutilized, or under-supported simply because they lack access, advocacy, or the right strategy. Outdated hiring practices and bias.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?1. Social media (LinkedIn), 2. Community Partnerships, CareerSourceNEFl, SHRM (Board Member-Workforce Development) 3. Speaking & Training Engagements 4. Platforms such as "On A Mission), 5. Community Presence-career fairs, workshops
How involved are you in the community?I stay deeply involved in the community through service, collaboration, and empowerment initiatives such as Local Workforce Development Partnerships, Speaking & Training Mentorship & Coaching, and Event Participation & Volunteering
What is your favorite not for profit or charity? One of my favorite nonprofits is Flight Forward 4 Change, Inc.—an organization I founded with a mission rooted in redemption, resilience, and reintegration. Flight Forward 4 Change is dedicated to supporting returning citizens, at-risk individuals, and the homeless through career development, life skills training, and second-chance opportunities.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?1. Lead with purpose, not just passion.2. Build your credibility.3. Know your audience. 4. Be visible and vocal. Speak, post, teach, and connect. Let people see your expertise and your story. Your voice is your brand—and people connect with authenticity. 5. Start with service. • Participating in local chapters (SHRM, career panel discussions, and nonprofit events.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?In my free time, I enjoy doing things that restore my spirit, spark creativity, and keep me connected to purpose and joy. Traveling, Faith and Reflection, Creative Planning, Spending Time with Family, Helping Others
