How long have you been in your industry?10 Years
Why did you choose your industry?It was a niche market. The construction industry was taking a bad rap for shady contractors. We decided to build a company based on Great People. Treat them well and watch them help everyone succeed. It has been a Win for us as a company.
Who are your typical clients?High-end clients who appreciate and understand the difference in the quality of products, people, and business.
What do you like best about being in this industry?The people. We get the opportunity to change people's mindset when it comes to construction. Whether they are buying hurricane protection to protect their assets or a pergola system to enjoy a luxury outdoor experience, we make it about them.
What are common problems you see?The "chuck in a truck" that can do it now! The economy has made the "cheapest" guy the best guy in certain areas. Uninformed clients think we all sell the same product, use the same labor pool, or that the bigger business is always out to get them financially. When that isn't always the case.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Do your homework. Check reviews. MEET the contractor. See products and get references. Ultimately, go with the person you feel you can trust. Nothing is more upsetting than doing business with a company that you're unsure about.

How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?We live off our referrels. Our customers are our biggest assets in this industry. We do all the Google and social media marketing. We attack seasonally. Based on the hurricane season for our shutter division, screens during the spring, and pergolas during the summer.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Currently working with our Business owner on creating one for Contractors. FUL
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Weather the storms. Lots of ups and a lot more downs at first. Don't get discouraged. Find team members who embody your values, culture, and trust the vision.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Spend time with family. I love fishing and hunting. I also love basketball. I am an assistant at Florida Gateway College in Lake City on my free time.
