Why did you choose your industry?I started working at a recruiting agency after leaving the military, and found that it was a field where I could work with great people, making a positive impact on job seekers around me while helping companies grow. Everyone wins in agency recruiting, so I knew from very early on I wanted to launch my own business doing this.
Who are your typical clients?Small to medium size transportation companies, logistics companies, or supply chain consulting firms.
What do you like best about being in this industry?The Supply Chain sector is underserved when it comes to agency recruiting. There are so many talented professionals looking for a step up, as well as growing and impactful companies in the sector looking for top talent. I like that I get to connect the two. Any company that we work with, I keep up with their news and its great seeing where some clients have gone after we placed talent there.
What are common problems you see?Hiring is tough. It takes time, money, and manpower to do it well and to bring top people on board. But employers often place the burden of hiring on an already overtasked HR department who can't take the time required to do deep, quality searches for qualified personnel. So instead they post it to a job board and the result is not good. That's why do headhunting - it produces.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Primarily we market via social media. LinkedIn posts are big for us.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Feeding NorthEast Florida - I volunteer in the warehouse.
