How long have you been in your industry?10 years
Why did you choose your industry?I didn't choose it; it chose me. I spent most of my career on Wall Street, developing new products and growing businesses for different financial institutions. Over the last 5-10 years, I have been the CFO, COO, President, or CEO of different Fintech, Healthtech, or Al firms. It seemed logical to look for a way to help more people and have some fun.
Who are your typical clients?We work with AI, ML, and high-growth tech firms that have raised some money and now realize the product/company is no longer a hobby but now a business. We are not consultants; we join the businesses we work with to help them reach and exceed their goals.
What do you like best about being in this industry?What I like best about what we do is that we work across many industries, such as Online Game Development, eSports Leagues, Online Betting Analytics, Health Care, and even an AI Fashion Studio.
What are common problems you see?We see a founder who finds a technology person, and they work on a new product. They somehow raise some funds and get to an oh crap moment, realizing that, in reality, they have a visionary and a technology but not a business person. We are the answer to the "oh crap" moment. We provide the third leg of the stool, which is business acumen. My partner and I have done this before and continue to bring new products and clients to market and help them fundraise when required.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Understand that you may have a unicorn, but please realize that there is a lot of work to prove it. Additionally, the end client operates on their time not ours.
When is your busy season?We have not had a slow season yet.
What keeps you up at night?I am always thinking of new angles for our clients product usage and ways to leverage relationship to provide 1+1=3.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?I attend many networking events, post on LinkedIn, and speak a workshops and summits.
How involved are you in the community?I have been a USA Swim Referee for 13 years and raised money for several charitable organizations.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?I am on the advisor board of MYWhatIf, which is an AI powered supportive tool for those impacted by grief with a focus on veterans.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Read, read everything! If you work in a big company, switch jobs every three years and learn different aspects of the business.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?I enjoy reading, golf and walking on the beach
