How long have you been in your industry?20+ years
Why did you choose your industry?Stories matter. It's the foundation for a great brand. And, as a business owner, you are the brand. People want to work with people that they know, like, and trust. We founded OakBloom Marketing to level up leaders and entrepreneurs and help them shatter invisible barriers by creating their personal brand story to build the trust needed to exceed career, business, and life goals.
Who are your typical clients?OakBloom Marketing works with high-achieving leaders and entrepreneurs who feel stuck and are ready to level up. Our clients fall into two categories:1) Career-oriented leaders stuck with a job search or promotion.2) Entrepreneurs and small business owners who feel stuck because their message fails to land with clients and prospects keeping them from attracting prospects or closing deals.
What do you like best about being in this industry? We founded OakBloom Marketing to help people break barriers. The co-founders faced the glass ceiling and bias in corporate. They experienced firsthand how owning your story is a powerful tool for personal and career development. Personal branding is about intentionally defining and expressing your unique value, taking control of your narrative, and showcasing what makes you extraordinary.
What are common problems you see? Many clients jump to lead generation tactics without building a strong foundation with their story and branding. Personal branding helps you build awareness with your audience so you stay top of mind, build trust, and establish credibility. This can lead to potential clients or employers turning to you when they're ready to fill a need or solve a problem. It’s a critical long-term strategy.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Don't underestimate the power of your story and personal brand. Personal branding is more than just a buzzword - a powerful strategy that can significantly impact your career or business. Here are some compelling statistics from a 2021 Brand Study:-74% of Americans are more likely to trust someone with an established personal brand.-47% of Americans say a personal brand is more influential in their decisions than a corporate brand.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?People want to work with people that they know, like, and trust. We're building that slowly and intentionally. As a small business, we focus on building relationships through our personal brands and networking to meet people face-to-face or virtually. The more connections and relationships we build, the more trust and credibility we develop and we see our business expanding.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Grounding in gratitude every day. Hiking with my dog along the coast. Enjoying a meal with my husband.
