How long have you been in your industry?7 years
Why did you choose your industry?I wanted to move to an industry/field where I could make a direct impact by helping people.
Who are your typical clients?People in their 20s who are dealing with anxiety in the workplace who want to learn effective coping strategies to alleviate said symptoms of anxiety, as well as working with people who are experiencing difficulty in their romantic relationships. I also do couples counseling.
What do you like best about being in this industry?I get to see the progress people make, which enhances their lives.
What are common problems you see?There are not enough networking events that are set up exclusively for therapists and insurance panels do not effectively compensate therapists.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?That change takes time, and if you take action in your life, you start to see positive changes.
When is your busy season?Fall through Spring
What keeps you up at night?Wondering when I will start to see a more steady flow of clients in my practice.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?I have my website, and I also attend industry networking events.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Don't know
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?You have to be very patient, as it takes a while to grow a private practice.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?swimming, playing tennis, going to museums, travel, going to Mets games, watching sports, spending time with friends.
