How long have you been in your industry?6 years
Why did you choose your industry?I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and capturing real, human moments. My background in journalism and documentary filmmaking naturally led me to video production, where I can combine creativity with impact. Whether it’s a documentary, branded content, or a live event, I love using video to inform, inspire, and connect audiences.
Who are your typical clients?JSB Video works with businesses, non-profits, and organizations that want to use video to tell their story, build their brand, and connect with their audience. Our clients range from corporate companies and event organizers to grassroots football teams, startups, and mission-driven organizations.
What do you like best about being in this industry? The ability to tell powerful stories that matter. Whether it’s helping a business showcase their brand, covering a live event, or diving deep into a documentary project, every project brings new challenges, new people, and the opportunity to create something meaningful.
What are common problems you see? Many businesses don’t realize the time, planning, and strategy that go into high-quality video production. Budgets can be tight, and some clients expect premium results without understanding the investment needed. There’s also a lot of competition, with lower-cost providers offering quick, templated videos that lack storytelling depth.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Think about your goals before you invest in video. What story are you trying to tell? Who is your audience? A well-planned video strategy saves time and money in the long run. Also, don’t underestimate the power of professional storytelling—authenticity and clarity will always set your brand apart.
When is your busy season?Spring and fall tend to be the busiest, especially with corporate events, conferences, and end-of-year campaigns. However, documentary and branded storytelling projects run year-round.
What keeps you up at night?Balancing creativity with business growth. I want to push JSB Video to take on bigger, more ambitious projects while maintaining the level of quality and attention to detail that clients trust us for.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business? We focus on strategic content marketing through Instagram, LinkedIn, and our website, showcasing our expertise and work. We also leverage word-of-mouth, networking, Upwork, and outreach to event planners and businesses that need high-quality video production.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Start small but be consistent. Learn every aspect of production—filming, editing, storytelling, and client communication. Focus on delivering great work, networking, and building strong client relationships. The industry is competitive, but those who put in the effort and keep improving will stand out.
