How long have you been in your industry?30 years
Why did you choose your industry?I think it chose me! I've been in sales since I could knock on my neighbors' doors selling Girl Scout cookies, magazines or whatever fundraiser my school was promoting. My sales career and entrepreneurial drive led me into roles with training, coaching, mentorship and leadership opportunities, I saw measurable impact on individuals and teams, so I launched a business growth consulting business. The mission is further expanded to develop an e-learning platform to impact entrepreneurial growth.
Who are your typical clients?Entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs from $0M - $5M who are highly motivated to launch and grow a successful, sustainable business are the ideal clients. They have the passion, idea and end goal in mind, but need to supplement their foundational and essential knowledge, skills, training, tools, resources and peer community to fill in their gaps.
What do you like best about being in this industry?I love seeing entrepreneurs experience A-HA moments, overcoming obstacles, breaking through perceived barriers and reaching achievements they had dreamed about but thought out of reach. Coaching them to create and implement their own strategic plans and expand their business acumen is personally and professionally very satisfying and I celebrate every win with them.
What are common problems you see?First and foremost, the lack of access to knowledge and resources. Entrepreneurs have unique needs, often have time and budget constraints for accessing support or expanding internal resources, and need to do more with less. Too many businesses fail because entrepreneurs feel isolated. The resources and support must be comprehensive for entrepreneurs, accessible and flexible on their terms.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Don't assume you can simply outsource functional responsibilities you don't understand or want to do. If you delegate or outsource finances, operations, sales, marketing, production or service delivery, etc. and you don't have a working knowledge of that area, you are risking your business. It's even worse if you just ignore that functional area. When you hire team members or outsource functions, YOU still need to be the decision maker and that means being able to hold and understand conversations that will impact financial, competitive, strategic and legal decisions.
When is your busy season?24/7/365 - business never stops!
What keeps you up at night? My mission is personal. I am driven to provide everything I can imagine in every format to meet the needs of entrepreneurs. I want them to learn business growth lessons with as little pain as possible. How do I over-deliver at an affordable price point that still allows me to scale?
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Social media, high touch networking and hosting the Go Go GROW Business Coaching Podcast are current the primary marketing methods used. I have guested on multiple aligned podcasts as well. For event marketing, I have advertised on socials as well as event platforms.
How involved are you in the community?I am a member of the JAX Chamber and the Arlington Council of the JAX Chamber. I moved to Jacksonville/ Palm Coast area in May 2024 and am getting involved in many of the professional events. I participate in many of the JSEB events and share feedback and conversational coaching with entrepreneurs I meet through those events.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Animal rescue and veteran causes in general, The Shane Center for Therapeutic Horsemanship in Centerburg, Ohio is nearest to my heart
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business? In the consulting business? Think about your goals for your business and design your business accordingly. Revisit often.Into entrepreneurship? Learn everything you can about launching and growing a business. You likely started your business because you know what you already do, your product or service. You need to know everything else.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Walking the beach or trails, visiting Hilton Head and Las Vegas, spending quality time with my husband and cats, FOOTBALL!
