How long have you been in your industry?20
Why did you choose your industry?I love media and helping leaders and top professionals learn how to shine on camera and on stage.I love media, and as a 35-year broadcast professional, I know things that most professionals do not, and I came to equip people in this new media-centered world.
Who are your typical clients?CEO, entrepreneurs, public speakers, and podcasts who want to go to the next level. Men, women, and teams that desire to improve their communication skills on-camera and on-mic
What do you like best about being in this industry?I love seeing people and companies move beyond the fears of the media, shine brighter, and own whatever stage they step onto.Cameras and mics are everywhere now, and to succeed in any business, you learn how to step up and shine like a pro.
What are common problems you see?Laziness - people settle for less, and it shows on camera and mic, which impacts their bottom line.People are spending more on tech and AI than on the real issue, which is learning how to be yourself, be strong and commanding and communicate and connect with your audience.Focus on helping people be real and and authentic, not have robots speak for you. Talk time and learn media skills.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Relax and have funDon't try to anyone else but yourselfTreat the camera much like your best friendsLearn to be a great storytellerLearn how to talk in soundbites, that tricker response, and more questions and interactions
When is your busy season?First of the year, and mid to end of summer
What keeps you up at night?Lack of consistent clients and commitment
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business? My talk show, other people's talk shows, social media, referrals, limited paid advertising
How involved are you in the community?I have lived with a lifelong stutter and yet have enjoyed an amazing career as a broadcaster and talk show host. I am an active stutter support advocate
What is your favorite not for profit or charity? The National Stutter Association
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Learn the business by being a shadow or getting into a mentorship program. The best way to learn these media skills is watch and learn from the best.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Hiking and exploring
