Why did you choose your industry?Attracted to the idea of helping people in their time of need (when the unexpected happens to their home or business)
Who are your typical clients?Homeowners, business owners, property managers, facility engineers...anybody that has plumbing and/or a roof is a candidate
What do you like best about being in this industry?Recession resistant, fast moving, strong margins
What are common problems you see?Connecting with people in advance of the need (this is not a desirable buy or impulse buy). Insurance companies are implementing tactics that are degrading the claims process and customer experience.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Call a service provider BEFORE you call insurance
When is your busy season?Consistent throughout year, although Jan and Feb tend to be slower
What keeps you up at night?Getting the right people to deliver our service consistent with our brand promise; being able to keep up with work; inconsistency in sales patterns
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Combination of 1:1 relationship building and brand building
How involved are you in the community?We participate heavily in NEFBA events and Builders Care, my wife and business partner also volunteers at Grace Under The Oaks
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?NEFBA Builders Care
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Be prepared to work very hard
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Boating and classic cars
