How long have you been in your industry?12 years
Why did you choose your industry?I needed to do something that helped lost of people using my sales and marketing expertise. The mattress business was the only one my wife approved.Here comment when I showed her the original video offer (3 suppliers ago) was everyone needs to sleep. you know how to sell, we'll get money from my Mom to start the company. So I did 12 years ago 30K mattresses later, here I am.

What do you like best about being in this industry?Helping people with an essential need. Sleeping better, saving money, and doing with with ease...feels goodEveryone needs a Registered Sleep Advisor IMHO. I fill that role.
What are common problems you see?Too many cheap bed in a box products available on line. It has segmented the low to medium end market.So retailers like me must differential ourselves to the higher end market who actually has money right now.Discretionary consumer spending is way down. We are all fighting for a small piece of the pie.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Trust me to guide you through this process since I am a Registered Sleep Advisor who is trained to give sleep consulting, sleep aid, and mattress selection advice.I solve sleep and bedding problems. I don't sell mattresses , they are merely the solution to help solve the customers problem.
When is your busy season?spring and fall
What keeps you up at night?How to get the message across without overspending in Advertising. This is why your show is important to be to help market ME!
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?I have lots of ways.1. My network, some of whom are incentivized2. My customers 3. Ads being created right now and should hit later this week.
How involved are you in the community?See above. I give back regularly, offering people in need crazy cheap deals. I've been given awards for it. It is hanging in my shop.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Roslyn Valley Business Association
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Have a kick ass location with plenty of signage, and a large marketing budget. And have a mix of name brands, quality regionals, and a capable bed in a box program which can ship anywhere
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Hiking, biking, pickeball, softball and reading. When I have time traveling with family, mostly national parks. We've been to 14 already.
