Welcome back to another episode of Living My Faith, where we highlight those who are faith based in making Kingdom Impact. I’m Morgan Yonge, joined today by Nancy Gavilanes with Abounding Faith. Nancy, thank you so much for joining.

Speaker 3
I’m so happy to be here with you today.

Speaker 2
Yes. So tell me about your role in abounding faith.

Speaker 3
Yes. Well, I, I’m an author. I’m a speaker. I’m the founder of abounding faith. And, I’m living my faith in different ways, including through the six, Christian living books and devotionals that I’ve written over the years, including God Given Dreams Six Ways to Live Your Divine Purpose. Now press. I also have the abounding Faith for today podcast.

Speaker 3
I’m a Bible school instructor and Christian life coach, and I write devotionals for the our daily Bread Ministries devotional that’s available in print and online, worldwide and translated into more than 50 languages. So I wear a lot of hats, but, it’s by God’s grace.

Speaker 2
Wow. You really do it all. And I love to see someone who’s so on fire and making that impact that you are making. So tell me, how did you get involved in your faith? Has it been from a young age? And what are you doing on a daily basis to keep that relationship with the Lord?

Speaker 3
I didn’t quite catch the question. Could you try again?

Speaker 2
Yes, absolutely. So, what are you doing in your daily walk with the Lord to help grow your faith?

Speaker 3
Yes. Well, I should say that I haven’t always been this outspoken and bold about my faith. Years ago, as a young journalist, I was chasing my career and running away from God. But God called me to follow him. During one amazing week in Australia, which I write about in some of my books and, I said yes.

Speaker 3
And that changed the course of my life. And it’s been through prayer. It’s been through worship. It’s been through taking Bible classes. It’s been a journey, but a wonderful one. And, so I encourage people to also just stay in the word praying, worshiping and, learning more about Jesus.

Speaker 2
Absolutely. What is a Bible verse or a passage that has really stuck with you throughout the years? Maybe your favorite verse that you want to extend with us?

Speaker 3
Yes. One verse that I love is taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. That’s Psalm 34 eight, and that’s what I love to encourage people. Life is tough. Jesus said we were going to have trials and tribulations in this world, but to take heart that he has overcome the world.

Speaker 3
And so I like to encourage people that that no matter what we’re going through, I don’t want to minimize it or downplay it, but I want to encourage people to taste and see for themselves that the Lord is good and that we are blessed and we take refuge in him.

Speaker 2
Oh, that is one of my favorites as well. I absolutely love the song that Shane and Shane has done from the Psalm. Oh, it’s one of my favorites. So what are you looking forward to most this year? You have a lot of irons in the fire. If you will, but what is it that you’re looking forward to the most?

Speaker 3
Could you repeat the question one more time?

Speaker 2
Yes. What is it that you are looking forward to the most this year?

Speaker 3
What am I looking forward to in this season? I am, I’m always working on different projects, and so I encourage people to connect with me at a bouncing paycom or to sign up for my email newsletter. I send updates on different books I’m working on, when my devotionals are running, and our daily bread when there’s a new podcast episode.

Speaker 3
So, there’s always something going on. And I also send encouragement. So, I’m looking forward to what God is going to do.

Speaker 2
I absolutely love to hear it. Well, thank you so much for joining us today. And, viewers, thank you for tuning in to another episode of Living My Faith. If you want more information, head on over to Living My faith.com, and we’ll see you in the next episode of Living My Faith.
