If you could be remembered for one thing, what would it be?

How do you use feedback to accelerate your growth?

I treat feedback as a gift. It gives me insight into blind spots, highlights opportunities I might miss on my own, and keeps me aligned with the impact I intend to have. Whether it comes from clients, peers, or mentors, I actively seek it out and use it to refine how I lead, coach, and communicate. Growth doesn’t come from perfection, it comes from humility, reflection, and a willingness to evolve.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned over your career?

The most important lesson I’ve learned is that relationships are everything. How we treat others, invest in our connections, and leverage those relationships positively to lift each other up—that’s what truly defines our success.

Morgan:
Welcome back to another episode of On a Mission, where we highlight those who are on a mission to make an impact. I’m Morgan Allen, joined today by James Fenimore with Heart Posture Collective. Thank you for being here.

James:
So nice to see you, Morgan. Thank you for having me.

Morgan:
Absolutely. Fun to have you on this side of the show.

James:
I know. Usually I am in that chair, at least recently, so that’s been kind of cool.

Morgan:
Yeah. Hosting Living My Faith, which has been going so well.

James:
Yeah. Love that. It’s been such a privilege and such an honor to meet so many amazing people that are making an impact.

Morgan:
Yeah, absolutely. Well, tell us about Heart Posture Collective.

James:
Sure. So Heart Posture Collective is a community that Tricia, my wife, and I have built together. And at the core of it, it really is just people that are trying to grow closer to God.

My wife has a very big following on social media for people that follow her for her one minute sermons. And as any good sermon giver, they’re a little bit longer than one minute.

She will admit that she likes to speak, and she’s a lovely speaker. That’s why people pay her to do it.

And then I am, from my background, I have a big coaching following and consulting following also. But also I am a Christian counselor.

And with that we said, let’s combine our forces here and build a community for people to come together that are fans of you that want access to you, but also want to grow closer through coaching and through counseling.

And that’s what we built, and that’s the core of what the Heart Posture Collective is.

Morgan:
That’s incredible what you guys are doing. So it’s not just life coaching, right? This is faith based business coaching?

James:
Well, if you want business coaching you can hire me outside of it. This is really about people that are trying to better their lives.

We’re about people taking their Sunday into Monday. It’s so easy for people to live out their faith boldly on Sunday. But then when Monday hits and you’re sitting in traffic, it’s pretty easy to forget who you are in Christ and remember who you are in that driver’s seat and grip that steering wheel a little tighter and get a little angrier.

So really what it’s about is showing people a path to improve their lives. But unlike other coaching platforms or other coaches where it’s self reliance and self determination, those are really bad words when you’re a follower of Christ.

You know what self determination means. It sounds good, but it’s a recipe for disaster. Because when we rely on ourselves, we know what ourselves are made of. It’s a sinful, fleshly, ego person.

But when we rely on God and we’re putting God at the center of all our decisions and we’re getting on our knees and praying for discernment for everything we do, all of a sudden it opens up a world of possibilities for how we can be living our life.

Morgan:
Yeah, absolutely. And what a beautiful mission to make this happen for people and to give them that platform to figure out how to implement that higher purpose into their lives and into their week.

James:
Yeah, and it’s a wonderful fellowship opportunity too. So many people struggle with fellowship.

We have members that live in the middle of nowhere and there’s one church. They might have suffered from church hurt from that church. So they do a lot of online church but they have no fellowship opportunities.

We provide that in the Heart Posture Collective, which is incredible.

We even have a really low tier plan that doesn’t cost a whole lot for people that just need fellowship. They know they don’t need coaching, they don’t need counseling, they don’t need any of that.

They just love sharing funny memes with people instead of going on Instagram where it’s all the algorithm trying to poison them.

They come to Heart Posture Collective and there’s a fun chat that we deal with. It’s just people that love Christ. Friendships build from that.

We do a Friday night fellowship Zoom call every Friday. It’s an open Zoom room where people just get together whenever they want.

Sometimes there are three people in the room. Sometimes there are thirty people in the room. It varies depending on the night.

People are just building friendships and bonds. People to pray for. People to have pray for you.

If you have somebody sick in your family, you’re going to be covered in prayer. It’s really incredible.

We started seeing people meet in person too. This has been cool because we’re coming up on the one year anniversary.

That’s March. We’re there. It’s been a year.

We have members not only all over this country, but internationally. We have people in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

We’re literally all over the globe. But now we’ve had people actually meet in person. That’s how strong these bonds have become.

We’ve had people drive 600 miles to meet each other. We’ve got pictures of it. It’s incredible.

You actually get a special badge because you get badges for things you do. If you meet in person you get a special badge.

Morgan:
That is so special. What a great way to build that fellowship.

So you have something exciting coming up, the Christian Chamber of Commerce. You and Tricia will be speaking there.

James:
Yes, we are both speaking there. The segment is called Apologetics Under Fire.

This is for people to basically live out their faith in the workplace. Again, take that mantra of Sunday into Monday.

Just because you’re at work doesn’t mean we become a robot and forget about Christ. That’s actually the opposite of what we should be doing.

We have really one goal here. Matthew 28:19. Go forth and make disciples.

We’re not going to tell you to violate the rules and get fired. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be living an example.

Show your faith at work. And when somebody asks you how come something isn’t bothering you the way it’s bothering everybody else, you can share why.

Not because you’re better than anybody, but because you’re surrendered.

Come surrender. It’s a beautiful thing.

When you get in the pool, jump in. It’s warm.

Our Father is such a good Father. He wants to give us even the little things that we ask for.

If you just pray and say, Jesus, SOS, I need you right now, there’s a humility in that that He appreciates and acknowledges.

Ask and you will receive.

And this is part of the coursework we do in the Heart Posture Collective. Giving people the resources and the tools to do this in an everyday fashion.

Not just when you’re in a Bible study or prayer group. Even when somebody microwaves fish at the office.

Take a deep breath, go to prayer, go to scripture.

We give people the tools and resources to do that.

Morgan:
My goodness, what a relatable example.

James:
I’ve owned a lot of businesses and dealt with a lot of complaints. I have a whole Rolodex of them.

Morgan:
That’s hilarious.

Well, thank you for the great work that you are doing. Is there anything else that you are truly looking forward to that you want to share with us?

James:
The one year anniversary is huge, so I would love people to get ready for that because we’re going to have all sorts of deals and specials.

Morgan:
How can they do so?

James:
HeartPostureCollective.com for sure.

Check out my social media and Tricia’s. I’m @TheJamesFenimore. Tricia is @TriciaFenimore.

You can’t misspell her name. She doesn’t like when people misspell her name.

She’s amazing. My wife is incredible.

I hope you follow her. She is such a beacon of light and she is doing the Lord’s work.

Also the US Christian Chamber of Commerce event in Orlando at the end of April. We’d love for you to come down and buy a ticket.

Just Google US Christian Chamber of Commerce.

And of course if you have a business that you ever need help with, find me. My information will be right below here. I’d love to talk to you about your business.

Morgan:
Awesome. Well thank you so much for coming.

James:
Thank you so much, Morgan.
