James
Hi. Welcome to Living My Faith. I’m James Fenimore, and today we’ve got a great guest for you. Joining us is Billy Hallowell. Billy, how are you?
Billy
I’m doing well. How are you?
James
Very good. Billy, we start the show with one simple question. How are you living your faith?
Billy
I love that, you know. How am I living my faith? I think this is something we’ve got to ask ourselves every day this year. The past year, throughout 2025 into 2026. Trying to live my faith more intentionally, trying to hear God’s voice more diligently, and trying to follow where God wants me to be more fervently. So that’s that is how currently I am living my faith.
James
Well, I love that being obedient is what I try to. Because, you know, I mean, I’m a married man, so being obedient is something that got a kind of obedience to me.
Billy
Yeah, exactly. No. It’s true.
James
And so how how are you? How are you listening? What are you hearing in God’s voice?
Billy
I love that question. You know, I about a about two years ago, in 2023, I was set on a path by God to work on a project. And we were trying to create a TV show. Came out of nowhere about the supernatural, about really investigating claims of miracles. You know, things that we believe as Christians, but we don’t often always talk about.
Billy
And so this was going to be a TV series. Long story short, it became a film series. And so I started traveling the country in 2023. Throughout 2024 and 2025. And we put out our first film Investigating the supernatural Miracles, which people can check out at supernatural movie.com. But that film really got me thinking differently.
Billy
Am I really listening for God’s voice? Do I really believe in miracles? I know in my mind I do. But have I sought miracles in my life? Have I ever seen somebody get healed? What happens if somebody doesn’t get healed and really starting to, you know, ask and then answer those questions? And that led me to really some tough questions about my own faith, you know, am I praying enough?
Billy
Do I pray without ceasing all the things the Bible talks about? And so this September, I started going for daily prayer walks in the morning around 540 5:06 a.m. just verbally praying to God and asking him questions the way I had prayed before that was really just speaking at God. And you know, which is fine. Sometimes we have to do that.
Billy
But but asking God, where do you want me today? What do you want me to do? Going through the specific things that are going on in my life. Who do you want me to talk to today? And what was so crazy to me is that I started feeling responses from him, which I had to some degree. Yeah, I’m 42.
Billy
I’ve been a Christian my whole life, but not not to that level. Where I started feeling those responses. So I’ll stop there. But but asking God questions and getting reaction in response. It has transformed the way that I live my faith out now.
James
I love that because I know so many people and this is one of my favorite conversations, is how you hear God. Because I know different people hear God in different ways. Like, I know for me it’s symbols and signs like, oh yeah, beat me over the head with the because I’m just, I’m just dumb. I’m, I’m thick headed and sometimes I just need it that way.
James
And needs to be as obvious as possible. Is there anything specific you could share with us? And when when you knew that God had told you something?
Billy
Yeah. You know, I will tell you. There was a person in my life who I don’t talk to very often. I’ve never talked to her on the phone. I was walking on one of these prayer walks, and this was so interesting. And it’s kind of a long story, but I’m going to condense it. She I was praying and I said, God, who do you want me to talk to today?
Billy
And this particular person is into the new age, and is not a, is not a believer. And I immediately her name came to my mind, I want you to talk to. And it came to my mind as though it were my own thought. I want you to call this person today. And I thought, that is so strange.
Billy
I never talk to that person. Why would I do that? I got home and I forgot to call this person. Now that night, I get a voice memo from this individual telling me, hey, we had had one conversation about God a couple of weeks before. I really don’t want to have that conversation with you again. It really shook me.
Billy
It really, you know, mess me up and I just need to pause. And I thought to myself, oh my goodness. God reminded me by putting this thought in her mind to reach out to me, because this morning I was supposed to and I didn’t. And I wrote back and I said, you know what? I was supposed to call you this morning, and I did not.
Billy
Would you still be open to talking with me? We don’t even have to talk about Jesus or faith right now. And here’s the cool thing. She said, you know what I would be? And we had a 2.5 hour conversation that night about the gospel, about Jesus. And so I’ve had a lot of those moments where there’s just this incredible confirmation, which has been amazing.
Billy
I’ve had Bible verses that have been confirmed that have dropped in my mind. And so it’s, again, it’s transformed the trust level that I have in God. And we should be careful, you know, to make sure we really are hearing God’s voice when we when we say we do. So that’s something I’m super diligent about.
James
I love that, you know, and I love to be careful. I just know that that’s where it’s coming from and that’s the source. And and you’re doing it. We’re in prayer walks in, talking to God, just keeping that line of communication constantly open. I know we’re running short on time. I want to make sure you know your work in TV and film.
James
That’s very exciting. I know, I appreciate that, anything exciting you have coming up that you’d like to share with the audience?
Billy
Yeah. So I mentioned investigating the Supernatural Miracles, which was the film that came out last year. You can go. It’s also on Prime, Amazon Prime. It’s on Tubi. You can watch it there. And you can go to supernatural movie.com. Now, the other project is the follow up to that, which comes out, March 16th, and that project is called Investigating the Supernatural Angels and Demons.
Billy
And we traveled the country looking at stories of claims that people have had interactions with angels and demons through a Christian lens. Are they true? You know, we give people the evidence. We allow them to make a decision for themselves based on that. And so that will come out March 16th, again investigating the supernatural angels and demons.
James
