About Raíces Art TherapyRaíces Art Therapy is a community-based organization providing non clinical, trauma informed expressive art experiences that support emotional wellness, connection, and personal growth. Through accessible and inclusive programming, we create spaces where individuals including children, adults, veterans, and underserved communities can express, reflect, and process their experiences through creativity, especially when words are not enough. "Art that speaks what words cannot." Raíces Art Therapy | Rooted in expression, guided by connection
What differentiates you from the competition?Raíces Art Therapy offers non clinical, trauma informed art experiences rooted in accessibility, community, and authenticity. We focus on expression without pressure, creating inclusive spaces for those who may not connect with traditional approaches
What are your top selling services or products that your company offers? Our programs are accessible, non clinical, and designed for real life experiences. We meet people where they are, offering creative outlets that support emotional wellness, connection, and reflection without requiring prior art experience or therapy.
If you had one message to get across to future customers, what would it be?You do not need the right words or artistic skill to start. Raíces is a space where you can show up as you are, express what you carry, and feel supported through creativity and community.
What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year? Our biggest challenge is making trauma informed, meaningful work accessible to a wider audience. While our content is reflective, social media favors quick engagement. We aim to grow while staying authentic and clearly communicating our impact.

What is the core mission of your organization? Raíces Art Therapy exists to create spaces where people can safely feel, express, and reconnect with themselves through creativity. Our mission is to make healing more accessible by offering non clinical, trauma informed experiences for those who may not have the words or access to traditional support.

How do you measure impact and success in your programs? We measure impact through participation, engagement, and feedback. This includes attendance, repeat participation, community partnerships, and the way individuals describe feeling more connected, grounded, and supported after sessions.

What are your biggest fundraising or outreach challenges? One of our biggest challenges is helping people understand the value of preventative, non clinical support. Many systems focus on intervention after a crisis, while our work centers on creating space before that point. Communicating that impact in a measurable way continues to be an important focus.

How do you build long-term relationships with donors and supporters? We build long term relationships through consistency and presence. We stay connected to our community, share our impact honestly, and create opportunities for people to be part of the work, not just observe it. Trust is built over time, and we honor that.

What trends are influencing the nonprofit world today? There is a growing recognition that healing and support do not have to be clinical to be effective. People are seeking spaces that feel accessible, culturally aware, and community driven. There is also an increased focus on mental health, preventative care, and inclusive programming.

Can you share a story that shows your mission in action? Each person I meet matters, and everyone comes into our sessions for a different reason. That’s what makes it hard to pick just one story, because they’re all meaningful. I learn from them just as much as they learn from me but if I had to choose one, it would be about slowing down and really being there for someone.
There was a participant who kept saying she couldn’t do the activity, you could tell she was frustrated and already decided she wasn’t capable. Instead of pushing her, we just took our time. I sat with her, showed her a different way, until she she became confident and started having fun with it.

It reminded me how easy it is for us to shut down when something doesn’t work the first time, especially if we’re used to doing things one way. We forget how capable we are when we’re given the space to try again differently. That moment stuck with me, because that’s really what this work is about, creating a space where people feel supported enough to try again.

What keeps you motivated in this work? What keeps me motivated are the small, honest moments. When someone lets their guard down, when they return, when they trust the space a little more each time. It is not always loud or immediate, but it is real, and it reminds me that this work is needed.
