What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Expanding awareness so more families, veterinary clinics, donors, and corporate partners know we exist. As a volunteer-run nonprofit funded entirely by donations, increasing visibility is essential to helping more animals.

What is the core mission of your organization? The Brooke Davis Angel Fund was founded to ensure Dr. Brooke Davis’s beloved pets would be cared for throughout their lives. That mission has grown to also provide one-time financial assistance for families facing financial hardship and to support humane community cat efforts.

How do you measure impact and success in your programs? We measure our impact one paw at a time—by the pets that receive needed veterinary care, the families who are able to keep their beloved pets, the community cats that receive compassionate care, and the trust we build with veterinary professionals, donors, and the communities we serve.

What are your biggest fundraising or outreach challenges? Our biggest challenge is expanding awareness and building sustainable funding. Every new donor, veterinary partner, corporate sponsor, and community advocate helps us reach more families and provide care to more pets and community cats.

How do you build long-term relationships with donors and supporters? We believe every donor is part of our mission. We build trust through open communication, responsible stewardship of every donation, and by sharing the stories of the pets, families, and community cats their generosity makes possible.

What trends are influencing the nonprofit world today? Donors increasingly want transparency, measurable impact, and a personal connection to the organizations they support. Nonprofits must clearly demonstrate how every dollar is used while building meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.

Can you share a story that shows your mission in action? One of the most meaningful moments is sending an email letting a family know they’ve been approved for a grant toward their pet’s veterinary care. Knowing that message brings hope during one of the most difficult times in their lives reminds us that our mission is about more than financial assistance—it’s about preserving the human-animal bond.

What keeps you motivated in this work? My best friend of 24 years, Dr. Brooke Davis, meant the world to me. She was one of the most compassionate veterinarians I’ve ever known. What keeps me motivated is making sure her kindness, generosity, and love for animals continue to touch lives through the Brooke Davis Angel Fund.
