About Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS)The Independent Council on Women’s Sport is a network and advocacy group comprised of current and former collegiate and professional athletes, their families and supporters.
We are building a collective voice to promote and protect women’s sports. We believe women should thrive and succeed in sport without facing sex based discrimination. We believe women deserve respect and fair competition equal to that of male athletes. We elevate and empower female athletes on and off the athletic field.
If you had one message to get across to future customers, what would it be?Human bodies, not gender identifies, compete in sports. Girls and women deserve fairness and safety in competition, and privacy in the locker room. Girls' and women's sports must be for females.
What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Combating the misinformation regarding the threat to fairness, safety and privacy for girls and women by permitting transgender athletes to compete in girls' and women's sports, as well as the fear of people to speak up in support of female athletes.
