About Northwood CareNorthwood began in 1962 as a social movement in response to the plight of seniors living alone in Halifax. Today Northwood is the largest not-for-profit continuing care organization in the Atlantic Canada region and recognized at home and across the country as an extraordinary example of the power of social justice and community-first healthcare.
What differentiates you from the competition?Unlike other operators in continuing care in our region, we are non-profit, that means we measure our success exclusively by how closely we hue to our core values and the healthcare outcomes of those we serve.
What are your top selling services or products that your company offers?While we do sell some products and services, our core business is residential continuing care: affordable senior housing; 24 hour medical care; and continuing care assisted living.
If you had one message to get across to future customers, what would it be?We all age and at some point will require some senior support. Since 1962 Northwood has been a mission-first, people-always, organization that places healthcare outcomes over profits.
What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Northwood is a 50 year old organization that is well respected in the region, however we are still feeling the effects of the pandemic and some negative public perceptions that stemmed from that time.
