Why did you choose your industry?I like helping people change life trajectories. Here I can best use my knowledge, experience and network to make a difference every day.
Who are your typical clients?Active duty military service members transitioning to civilian careers
What do you like best about being in this industry?The wide range of people with whom I get to work
What are common problems you see?Our country is short hundreds of thousands of people to protect our networks and business from cyber threats.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?For active duty personnel transitions to civilian careers - you know more than you think you do about defending our networks. If you can fight on physical terrain A you are highly trainable to be a cyber warrior in the digital domain.
When is your busy season?January - October.
What keeps you up at night?Stealing a quote from General Mattis - nothing - I keep other people up at night.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?It’s a ground game. My team and I meet with base and transition program leaders - earn their trust and confidence - and then we deliver on our promises to train and put people into in demand - rewarding - cyber jobs.
How involved are you in the community?I speak in national security and veteran issues
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?St Jude’s
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?This work is about serving other people - creating opportunities. The more engaged you are with those we serve, the more rewarding the experience.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Fly fishing - art - music- literature - drama
