How long have you been in your industry?6 years
Why did you choose your industry?I always wanted to get into the industry from a homeowner's perspective. After a wonderful trip with friends and family at an Airbnb I decided I didn't want to wait and jump straight in with investors and purchased my first property.
Who are your typical clients?From a homeowner standpoint, it's investors who are looking to make as much money as possible. From a guest perspective, it's families and couples looking for a unique experience.
What do you like best about being in this industry?I like the flexibility I have. I can do my work from anywhere.
What are common problems you see?Homeowners are taken advantage of by guests and property management companies. It's a shame.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Go all in. Don't go in with a backup plan because if you do, you're guaranteed to fail.
When is your busy season?Spring Break and summer months.
What keeps you up at night?AI algorithms shutting down my business.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?We primarily market through OTA's like Airbnb and Vrbo. We then capture emails and book return guests directly.
How involved are you in the community?I volunteer with my local church.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Operation Underground Railroad
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Watch your expenses and look for the greatest ROI. Expenses can easily get out of hand in this industry. Also, focus on the guest experience. Make your property Instagram worthy and you'll be just fine.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Spending time with friends and family.
