How long have you been in your industry?Since Sept. 2022
Why did you choose your industry?I didn't choose my industry, my industry chose me. When my life changed in the blink of an eye, I had the opportunities to recover back to living a life I loved. My mom, sister and I realized how many individuals acquire brain injury and don't have the knowledge or opportunities to have as positive of a recovery as is possible. I had the good fortune of having an educated family caregiver and many said "Jamie is so lucky! " I was, and we create MSBIF so others could be too
Who are your typical clients? We have a diverse group of clients:1) Brain Injury survivors and unpaid caregivers2) General public
What do you like best about being in this industry? It allows me to travel the world, go to amazing places and feel I am contributing to positively affecting millions of lives.
What are common problems you see?Nonprofit organizations often feel competitive because they feel they have no funding or resources. There is not a scarcity of interest and ROI in positively affecting the education of millions of individuals around the world. It can be hard to understand how to organize events in a way that helps the underserved brain injury survivors/unpaid caregivers as well as making the money to sustain
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Find what you are passionate about and learn how to understand your value so you are able to sustain the lifestyle you want while being able to positively affect lives.
When is your busy season?March
What keeps you up at night? There are so many changes and unknowns in my line of work. I don't have a set salary where I know exactly how much I will be making each month. My business has also been growing significantly since Sept 2022 2024 was the first year Jeanee and actually received net profit form our work with MSBIF
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business? Our multi award winning 18 minute documentary #MoCrazyStrong. It is used in educational institutions globally and brings awareness to our story and mission,Our website, LinkedIn, Sharing our new Speaking Reel which will be launched Thursday, February 6th and we can send to you
How involved are you in the community? For the local community we run yoga events for all ability levels as well as Alive to Thrive events bringing brain injury survivors to safely accomplish skiing/snowboarding. Watch #MoCrazyStrong and hear from a panel of brain injury professionals and receive CEU credits
What is your favorite not for profit or charity? Our own! MoCrazy Strong Brain Injury Foundation
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business? If you get into being a nonprofit because you are passionate about a cause and figure out how to adventure and live the lifestyle you want while helping millions worldwide that is the best feeling. Like any business it takes time, creativity, overwhelm, and investment in time, effort and money to create the foundation you want and see the impact and results you want
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Hiking outside, yoga, skiing!
