How long have you been in your industry?12 years
Why did you choose your industry? While in high school and college, i dreamt of the hollywood film scene. However, I quickly learned it was not for me. So I shifted for more creative marketing assets for brands. It was less intense yet i was still able to create engaging content that resonated with viewers. I think shifted even more to the independent school marcom industry to help create video content and video strategies to help independent schools grow their marketing and enrollment.
Who are your typical clients?prek-12 grade Independent schools, non-profits, and businesses.
What do you like best about being in this industry? The opportunity to create emotion and have that emotion turn into action.
What are common problems you see?In the marketing world of the independent school landscape in particular, the mindset of content creation is one where many think its one and done and that that one video has to be perfect. However the family enrollment journey is one where you need to continually build trust throughout the funnel. Video is the best way to build that trust. Many nonprofits and businesses think this way as well.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Going back to the last question, make sure your have a cohsive video stragety. Many think one great will move the needle and that may have been true 10 years ago. But the buyer is more skeptical and wants to build connections. Creating content in many layers(Funnels) will help increase that know, like, and trust factor.
When is your busy season?April-June and then September-November
What keeps you up at night?Client satisfaction, meeting and exceeding the standards
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Content creation, repeat clients, networking
How involved are you in the community?Since most of our clients are nonprofits thats how i get more involved in the community- use my gifts and talents to help (Paid or not)
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Don't Stall, Just Call
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Stay in it for the long haul. Many quit 1-3 years but its important to stay in the long haul as you develop relationships.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Watching Baseball, spending time with friends, traveling, light hiking, trying out new things, binging shows and games.
