How long have you been in your industry?27 years
Why did you choose your industry?The insurance industry has been around over 250 years. I wanted to be in an industry that is stable and where I could help people.
Who are your typical clients?Business owners/leaders and families that values the experience, knowledge and customer service that we provide.
What do you like best about being in this industry?Being able to work with so many smart and interesting people and helping them protect what matters to them most.
What are common problems you see?The lack of old fashioned customer service and industry knowledge by many of those working in the industry.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Don't be transactional when buying insurance and who you are buying it from. There is nothing worse than not having coverage for a claim that you thought you had coverage for. Does your agent actually have any experience helping during a claim, when you actually need your insurance?
When is your busy season?Every Day
What keeps you up at night?Not finishing my "to do" list from the previous day.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Mostly word of mouth, client referrals.
How involved are you in the community?Very involved with community where we live, the school, the local insurance industry association. I also founded a non-profit.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?International Basketball Academy of Colorado
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?The insurance industry is the most stable business to be in, especially during a recession.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Spending time with my family and friends, playing golf, being in the mountains or on the water.
