How long have you been in your industry?1 year: 4 months
Why did you choose your industry? The Changing Cadence Foundation was founded and operates in its current focus area because it aligns directly with our mission to support veterans, first responders, and families—especially children with disabilities-by addressing unmet needs and fostering holistic well-being.This specific industry was chosen because of the profound impact it allows us to have on communities that often face unique and complex challenges. Veterans and first responders embody resilience and dedication, but they
Who are your typical clients? The Changing Cadence Foundation does not operate on a traditional client-based model; instead, we focus on serving the broader community by fostering community cohesion and connection around our uniformed heroes—veterans, first responders, and their families. Our mission is rooted in bringing people together in patriotism and honor, creating a shared sense of gratitude and respect for our heroes.
What do you like best about being in this industry? What I like best about being in this field is the opportunity to foster community unity and gratitude toward our veterans, first responders, and their families. Creating events and initiatives that inspire patriotism and honor while bringing people together is incredibly rewarding. It’s fulfilling to see how our work not only uplifts those who serve but also strengthens the bonds within community.
What are common problems you see?A common challenge in this field is addressing the decline in patriotic spirit and community appreciation for our heroes. Many veterans and first responders feel underrecognized, while public engagement in honoring their sacrifices has waned. Bridging this gap requires innovative ways to rekindle unity, respect, and pride in those who serve our nation selflessly.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Though we don’t have clients, we advise those seeking to foster a veteran-focused culture to engage in philanthropy and collaborate with local organizations. Get involved with your community and local government, and understand that challenges present opportunities to build stronger bonds. Show genuine appreciation and create initiatives that celebrate and support veterans and first responders.
When is your busy season?Memorial Day and Veterans Day
What keeps you up at night? What keeps me up at night is wondering what more I can do to help, engage leaders, and inspire action for our uniformed heroes.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business? To market, grow, and expand, we focus on leveraging the news to highlight our mission, collaborating with local government, and creating community events that foster engagement. Additionally, we partner with larger national organizations to amplify our reach and bring more resources to support our initiatives. This approach ensures both local impact and broader visibility for our cause.
How involved are you in the community?CEO of Changing Cadence Foundation, supporting veterans, first responders, and families, while collaborating with local organizations. As a Steering Committee member with Bosch for the Greater Sacramento Veterans Collaborative and an active chamber participant, I advocate for veterans and community growth. My past candidacy for Vice Mayor of Roseville highlights my commitment to public service!
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?I have 3 of them for different reasons. Bluestar Moms, Victory Bridge Foundation, and the Bob Woodruff Foundation
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business? My advice to someone considering a philanthropic role or starting their own initiative is to focus on a cause you’re deeply passionate about and be prepared to adapt to challenges. Build strong relationships with your community, local government, and like-minded organizations, as collaboration is key to success. Most importantly, stay committed to creating meaningful impact, even in small steps—it
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?I enjoy spending time with my wife, four kids (and one on the way), while staying active and prioritizing fitness.
