How long have you been in your industry?24 years
Why did you choose your industry?I enjoy making dreams of home ownership come true. We specialize in helping veterans and first-responders realize the dream and provide them with a free home warranty when they purchase a home through us. It helps ease worry of maintenance in the first year of the journey.
Who are your typical clients?Everyone but we specialize in helping veterans and first-responders.
What do you like best about being in this industry?Everyone buys and sells homes at some point in their lives. We help them save money and provide the best customer experience possible through constant communication and coordination of the entire process.
What are common problems you see?Communication is a huge problem. I hear the same complaints all the time about agents not communicating with their clients and helping to ease concerns. That's what we do best. Keeping clients informed and guiding them through the difficult process is our specialty.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?People should regularly check their credit to make sure there is no fraud occurring and keep their credit profile healthy so they are prepared for emergencies and for any large purchases that may come up like buying a new home.
When is your busy season?Spring and Fall tend to be the busiest seasons to purchase homes.
What keeps you up at night?Going over things I need to do the next day to make sure my clients are taken care of. I want all deals to go smooth.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Referrals from satisfied customers has always been a big part of my marketing. I pass out lots of cards everywhere I go. Social media is also a plus. You have to think outside the box in the current market to meet new clients. Attending social organization meetings is a great way to meet new contacts.
How involved are you in the community?I have put on large events to raise money for kids with chronic and terminal diseases. I have fingerprinted thousands of children for free child IDs. I have fitted and distributed several thousand bicycle helmets through state grants. I set up booths at many community events and have been doing this for decades.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Hospice has helped my family on several occasions, and I respect what they do.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Learn as much as possible about providing the best customer service possible to all clients. Always maintain open lines of communication with all clients. The real estate business is not a get rich quick game. It is a slow and steady build up to a great career if you maintain open communication.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?I don't have much free time because I work with and train my agents to be their best. When I do, I spend time with my wife and four awesome kids.
